Comments please on Serrapeptase
I suffer with severe pain [ using morphine patches and tramadol]from adhesions due to multiple surgeries. A friend of a friend has suggested that serrapeptase supplements may help. Newly diagnosed
I still feel unsure as the information I have been given is quite sketchy. My initial fibroscan in July 2022 seemed to be quite disconcerting as had a liver stiffness of 41.9Kpa with CAP 400, which apparently is the most they could record, so was a little concerned. But nothing was really discussed

Kenu foot surgery
I think everyone should know that our friend Kenu had quite major foot surgery last week. Let’s keep him in our thoughts and prayers. Many of us know how painful it is to have that surgery. Love to all, Kelly

A critical review of Provenge. Your inputs welcomed?
Any thoughts on this critical review. One thing that strikes me as odd, is how there is no information regarding efficacy since 2012. That's 10 years. If something works well, then why isn't there new data showing that? Some people say, it can't hurt, so just do it. That makes sense if it is true

Xtandi can fuel spread of bone tumours in advanced prostate cancer?
I've been taking Xtandi for two months now and my PSA has continued to go down, however, I'm definitely getting more pain from a tumour on my back below my shoulder blade. It's gone from being just uncomfortable to now needing to take some painkillers before I go to bed otherwise it's too painful to

Weaning off painkillers
Had hip replacement 6 weeks ago.On 1000mg paracetemol and 60mg codeine 4 times a day pain relief. Had no advice about how long I should take this medication or how to manage coming off it. Would love a drink at Christmas. How long should I be on painkillers and can I get off them this week?

Mentally draining
I am just so sick of this, of putting up with excruciating pain. When I'm on my period is when I get the pain. It lasted for about 4 days, I passed out the other night as the stabbing pain was so intense. I started with chills and sweats and everything turned blurry, I leaned on the wall and felt my

Neck and Shoulder pain. Bad at night, getting little sleep.
I have neck and shoulder pain which radiates down my arms. The only painkiller I can take is paracetamol as I take warfarin. The GP says it's due to taking Levothyroxine for an underactive thyroid. I've been taking both medications for over 10 years and woder about long term use. The pain is constant

Hi, this is very random but I’ve been suffering from leg pain and weakness for a couple days now. My work involves standing all day and I’m usually exhausted every day but recently the last few days my legs have been killing. I’ve tried different pain killers and they only provide very small relief

Hi I'm new to the group so please bear with me. I have been managing my CFS very well for the last few years but after having my Gall bladder removed earlier this year have had a bad relapse. I am having real difficulty getting my pacing right as am exhaused physically and mentally for 99% of the time

Mum in extreme pain
My Mum has been suffering with a Prolapse for the past 5 months and it has caused incredible amounts of pain. The pain seems to be easier when she first wakes up in the morning - to the point where she says she is completely resolved. For context, she has been diagnosed with a Stage 2 rectocele and

How do you get taken seriously when 'You look well"
How do you get medical professionals to see that you feel absolutely awful-when you look well? Nothing about me looks as if Im sick and I plod on. But Ive got long term gastritis/IBS/GERD and at present, seem to be stuck in an unending loop of pain and IBS symptoms which vary all the time and have

Painful sciatica
Hi. I have spondylosthesis (bulging disc), L5 area and, having seen a surgeon at the Whittington Hospital, am now on a waiting list for facet joint injections. For the past several months I've had sciatica -- pain down the backs of both legs, worse when it rains (I can tell when it's going to rain) and

Pain above molar teeth that runs across jaw and left side of head.
Hi, I have been suffering from an ache above my top molar teeth on my left hand side. I have had the pain on a few occasions over the last few years which have always cleared up after 5-10 days. My dentist never found a problem but gave me antibiotics a couple of times in case it was a sinus infection

My first post: diagnostic laparoscopy didn't find anything but the horrible pain is still there
Hello, this is my first post here and I apologise for how long it is. I guess I am looking for some hope and advice. I am feeling really upset today because I had another phone call with my new gp who seems not to listen to me. I am forty, I’ve always suffered from bad periods (so did my mum and

Treatment
Hi all, I’m new to the group even though I have been diagnosed with FM for around 15 years. I’ve come to a point where I’m in pain everyday, tired constantly and suffering from depression. I have always worked but the last three years I have had a lot of time off and now they are taking disciplinary

Failed Back Surgery
In 2017 I had a Laminectomy for Severe Spinal Stenosis in L3/4/5. The operation was successful and for 3/4 months I was completely pain free for the first time in years! In 2018 I had a bad fall and this resulted in having a Rotator Cuff Repair which was successful but by now my spinal pain was back

I just want to clarify that the blood test results I had (from the only blood test I’ve had since diagnosis) for the inflammatory markers were done in the beginning of September, when I was still on around 1mg Prednisolone. Also that the painkillers I take in the morning only help a bit, not a lot. Having

Pin’s 📍are out 👍🏼
Took a little twisting to loosen them up and out they came with no pliers 😱. Little blood 🩸 but not too bad. Was a rough night last night needed a few pain pills, not much sleep. Throbbing this morning but bearable and it’s elevated. PT comes in at 11 o’clock and tomorrow Home Health to change bandages
