Bad test news - questions to ask doctor
He was put on
Xarelto
20 mg. He has always been asymptomatic and I was naive since he was so active and healthy. Forward to 2023. Husband is now 68 years old. Plays golf daily and works in our yard. He fainted one night going to the bathroom.

I was out on
Xarelto
by the ER department and my family physician upped my previous blood pressure medication which already included bisoprolol. Flash forward a year and in February of this year I had my first AFib event post cardio conversion.

Continuing with the Oceans Protocol
Xarelto
15mg trial. Annual follow up is "nurse protocol" no more EP visits. After the journey what I have I learned? Diagnosis and broader medical understanding of prevalence of AFIB in Australia is very much a works in progress.

withdrawal symptoms Edoxaban
Had a trawl online and this is well documented with
xarelto
. I have problems with any drug that crosses the blood brain barrier , had similar problems with Bisoprolol. Of course worried in case I had a bleed or needed surgery and had to stop them abruptly .

Newly diagnosed CHF
Put on some medications, Metoprolol, lasix, and
Xarelto
, along with baby aspirin. First appointment with cardio doctor will be in a few days. Was in hospital for a week, swelling mostly in left foot, ankle and calf. Put through tests and had paddle shock for the a-fib.

statins
I am already on
Xarelto
, Nebivolol, Candesarten and gave verapamil as a pip (pharmacist said still ok to take it as a pip, contraindication would only be an issue if taking it daily ) Just wondered if anyone has issues with muscular aches and pains due to statins?

blood thinner easiest on stomach
I tried
Xarelto
( forgot chemical name) once, and that was even worse on my stomach. For those with Gastro sensitivities , is Warafin, easier on the stomach? I read on some site that warafin interacts with thyroid medicine and I’m on levothyroxine.

Black and blue from electronic event recorder.
I'm prone to bruising from taking
Xarelto
(an anticoagulant). I assume this was the cause, but wonder if anyone else experienced this from using a cardiac device pressed against their chest for readings.

Switching from Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) to Apixaban (Eliquis)
I am switching my DOAC from
Xarelto
to Eliquis, mainly for ease of compliance.

Can I stop taking rivaroxaban?
Since being on
xarelto
, I have tripped 3 times for various reasons eg. getting the dogs extendable lead caught in my sandal! Twice I had a bit of a bleed into my knee and once into my thigh which added to the pain. I worry about bleeding in a worse accident ie MVA.

Anyone in permanent afib long term and feeling fine?
After a long discussion with my EP we have decided to stop all afib conversion drugs and just stay on my blood thinner
Xarelto
for life. I really feel fine and have no symptoms or problems other then excepting the fact I am in permanent afib with a heart rate of 90 bpm with no turning back.

Eliquis
Seeing that a large number of people are changing from
Xarelto
to Eliquis as it appears to be safer, I asked my doctor to change me.

Still looking for a diagnosis.
Additionally, I take 15mg of
Xarelto
daily (blood thinner). My blood pressure is under control. My Doc wants me to consider ablation after I have a complete echo. I do not seem to notice any issues with my meds except the blood thinner (cuts really bleed).

Bad side effects with anticoagulants
I have tried Apixaban and
Xarelto
- I also take Bisoprol (no problem, together with a antistatin, again no problem. Does anyone have any idea how else to deal with AF? Many thanks, Liz

Covid Treatment besides antivirals?
Because my medications include
Xarelto
, Atorvastatin and Digoxin , he said he would not want me on an antiviral and recommended that I should call his office if I test positive and they'll take it from there.

surgery changing my anticoagulant
UPDATE: spoke to prescription clerk at the surgery yesterday and she changed me back to
Xarelto
without batting an eyelid. She said it was an ‘outside agency’ handling it all and the surgery has no issues with patients not changing.

AF back again
On Saturday it returned - trip to A and E. they were going to cardiovert me on the Sunday being as it was less than 48 hours onset, but in end didn’t as felt safer to put me back on
Xarelto
(20mg) and bisoprolol (2.5mg) this time versus 1.25mg in 2020 to avoid risk of stroke.
