Update on my husband who stopped dofetilide (Tikosyn) after ablation
Update on my husband (57) who finally stopped dofetilide (Tikosyn) after having had an ablation last October. Well, after only a week, AF came back! (possibly triggered by alcohol). The doc said to go back on the dofetilide and up the metoprolol for his high heart rate. After four days he did go back

Shopska salata and labneh
I visited Belgrade in the summer of 2000. It was just after the war, and the city had not yet reopened. It was a magical visit, while the scars of war were visible everywhere (it was obvious that the USA had deliberately bombed the Chinese embassy), the people seemed to have decided not to dwell on it

Diagnosing AF - advice needed
My mother is 85, had a pacemaker inserted a year ago for sick sinus syndrome with a very low heart rate. The irregular heart beat symbol has been showing up occasionally on her BP monitor during measurements. Previous use of holters to diagnose AF has not recorded any. Since the holter is used only

New to running but loving it so far!
Hello all, I finished W3R3 today and am feeling rather smug! I’m 52, had a heart attack in June 2019, heart surgery in November and am now trying to find myself again, having put on 3 stone. Whoops! We are going on holiday next week, so I’ve decided to re-do W3 as I’ll be running somewhere new and I

Algesal Cream
I have found something that helps. When my legs start getting painful, it always starts in a different place, arch of my foot, back of my knee, thigh, calf, really random. As soon as I feel it, I rub my leg to see where it's painful and massage it with this cream. It seems to work! It also works

Know About Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is one of the most commonly performed open heart surgeries. Generally patients with severe coronary heart disease undergo this type of surgery. In this type of surgery a healthy artery or vein from the body is grafted or connected to the blocked coronary artery.

Anyone on a plant based diet here? And does it help with AFibb?
Hello all, I've been toying with the idea of changing my diet to Plant based. Many years ago in my 20's.... I went vegan but went back to eating meat after a few years. I never mastered vegetarian cooking and am not a huge fan of Legumes (beans!) But I'm willing to try anything to find some well-being

LA and COVID
Hi all, I hope you’re well! This news just came out. https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/88044 LA might lead to thrombosis in COVID-19. Not really a surprise though :) Anyway, they also mention that blood clots still occur with LA on anticoagulation with COVID. They recommend

Cancer with APS
I’ve been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I also have AFib. The oncologist is suggesting chemo plus the Whipple surgery. How dangerous is all of this when you have APS. I also have COPD. I feel that this will be the end of my life. Last year I had my aorta valve replaced by the TVAR method. Info
