T3 trial and latest blood test results
4 weeks ago I started a 3 month trial of T3. I am now taking 50mcg Levothyroxine and 25mcg Liothyronine (the latter split into 2 doses approximately 12 hours apart). Before the trail I was taking 75mcg and 100mcg Levothyroxine on alternate days. My FT4 level has dropped from 10.6 (September 2023

Why does the testicles suddenly experience pain?
Some viewpoints on this issue: Testicular pain is a symptom that needs to be taken seriously as it may indicate various health issues, some of which may require prompt medical intervention. Firstly, testicular pain may be caused by minor injuries or infections, such as mild impact, friction, or epididymitis

After my blood tests a few weeks back, the advice on here was to increase levo by 25 mg, I had some spare levo so did this, contacted my GP to say I wanted the increase in levo, over the last few weeks I have spoken to 3 diffrent GPs at my surgery and each have refused the increase.Last wednesday at

low immunoglobulins and knee replacement
I’m contemplating total knee replacement. My concern is that my immunoglobulins have sunk below normal range - but not low enough to start infusions. Has anyone else had to consider this? What recommendations were made to you? Did you go ahead with surgery? Did you have complications? So much to think

28 year old male with congenital AVS with recent mechanical aortic valve replacement with ascending aortic graft
Hi all, I have lived with my congenital AVS fairly well up to the age of 22 when I needed the intervention, which was to replace my leaky valve with a mechanical valve, along with this unfortunately I also needed an ascending aortic graft put in too due to the damage caused over the years. Ever since

Worsening bowel symptoms 😢…any advice welcome x
Hi everyone, haven’t posted for a while. Still waiting on surgery to look at my bowels. Recently my symptoms have gotten worse, prior to moving my bowels the pain starts, excruciating is the only word I can use to describe it. I currently take fibrogel twice daily and have cream for an anal fissure.

A Happy Anniversary
Dear AFA forum family. Isn't life wonderful? I joined the AFA forum some four years ago and had it not been for chance encounters, who knows where I would be today. It started with an AFA post titled "Tim' Story". At the time of his post (several years ago) Tim was 55 and his story mirrored my own

Newbie in town
Good morning everyone, I am new here and would like to introduce myself. I am sure that I can learn a lot from all of you! I have been diagnosed during my laparoscopy at the end of October 2023. I was dealing with pain for years now which included finding out many drugs that I am allergic to... I haven't

Bristol Endo Clinics?
Hey! Maybe a long shot, but I’m wondering if anyone is Bristol based here, and has had any recent experience with the endo clinic in Southmead? Does anyone know what surgery wait lists are like? Thanks in advance 😊

Hashis and Graves? Watch and Wait has now caught up.
About 15 months or so, I had an appointment for a thyroid specialist as my thyroid tests pointed towards Graves. I had been hypothyroid for about 17years when my different results meant my gp prescribing less and less levo. When the amount became 12.5mcg, (after an original 150 mcg) I asked to be

post surgery bleeding. Does it ever stop?!?
I had my surgery on 6th October to remove endo and I haven’t stopped bleeding since. It’s really getting me down. It slows but it never goes. It’s really starting to impact on my mental health and I’m still experiencing pain. Nowhere near as bad as it was but still not ideal but I’m putting it down to

No surgery quite yet
So, I met with the surgeon this morning. When did they start graduating from medical school in infancy? My doctor should not be younger than my children! Anyway, he said that yes, I need gallbladder surgery, but the situation is not as urgent or dire as my GP's receptionist made it out to be. He

Dosage Gabapentin
I am concerned about the dosage of Gabapentin. I am a petite female, 75 years old and slight in build. Is this drug safe to take at maximum dosage for all adults regardless of age, weight and size? Am currently building up the nightly dose and have also been prescribed Trazodol to also take at night

Diagnosed DIE of rectum/bladder/ovaries/POD
Hi, 24 and just been diagnosed with DIE of the recum (5cm from opening) and large endo adhesions on uterus, bowel, bladder and ovaries and obliterated pouch of douglas. I haven't seen a consultant yet for surgery options - just wondering if anyone had similar diagnoses and what they went through? I
