ADHD diagnosis
Since watching a TV programme a couple of years ago I have suspected that I too have ADHD. I have researched it online and taken several online 'tests' which have scored me extremely likely to have ADHD. I feel a bit silly going to the doctor to try for a diagnosis at my age as it is thought of as a

NOSI Mosey
For me at the moment one of the most distressing parts of my TS is my NOSI, that’s Non-Obscene Socially Inappropriate, that’s me shouting the most ridiculously, childish insults that anyone could ever dream up, usually I’d prefer to insult people in a more intelligent way. Having NOSI is like being constantly

Why I now hate Cineworld
I like to go to the Cinema. It is something I do every two weeks as per my timetable. I enjoy watching films a lot. Now it seems I am no longer allowed to do this. On the 30th December (yes, it has taken me this long to stop FUMING!!!) I decided to go and watch Gulliver's travels at the Milton Keynes

I got the letter today. I have to wait another 2 months before I see a neurologist at Addenbrookes. Frankly, I am pretty sure at this rate, without medication, that I will be either seriously injured or killed in the next two months because my tics are getting that bad that they are physically harming

No gerbils. Lots of screaming.
So I got an answer today. There are no indoor pets allowed apart from goldfish. While that is great news for Mr. Fry (my gender confused goldfish), it is not such great news for the gerbil I planned to adopt. I'm not too upset though because I can now save up for Mr. Fry's new aquarium and friend (he's

Recently I’ve re-acquired some tics, I find these vocal tics more distressing than coprolalia, maybe it’s because coprolalia is more stereotyped to almost continuously swallow your own saliva and make awful snotty, grunting sounds is just horrible, can you just imagine it getting close and personal with

Hanging on the Telephone
I’m in quite good spirits today, I think the new meds are perhaps now having an effect on me, also I have taken my own advice and got myself a Wii Fit from Cash Generators (I couldn’t afford a new one). I thought I might share this little incident with you, some might get a bit uptight about it and have

Listen Up!!!
Listen Up!!! Right, listen up everybody, this is important. Today in the House of Lords they are discussing the planned changes to Disability Living Allowance, if it gets through and the government get their way many of us will lose our DLA. So listen very carefully, I will say this only once,

So much pain I am annoyed!
I have had a [sarcasm] brilliant [/sarcasm] few weeks. Since my last blog, my eye tics have got worse and have, as Tourettes does expertly, added several new and old ones back into my long list of tics. My eyes have been rolling around so much that they have gone very red and I look like I have not slept

J'ai ne suis pas misérables!
Last night was one of the greatest nights of my life. I have been VERY depressed recently but we went to see Les Misérables at the Queen's theatre in London. This was only the second time I had been to the old smoke for theatre... well third if you count the time we had to go back to Chitty Chitty Bang

Dear Mark
I think in my encroaching old age I’m beginning to turn into a bit of a Daily (Hate) Mail reader, I might have done this before but I can’t remember off the top of my head – I’m about to write to a journalist in response to an article that I’ve read. So here goes. Dear Mark, As I was sitting in Euston

Secrets and lies
The first thing I tell new staff who have come to work at my home is: 'Don't tell me anything secret' Although we are not talking secrets like I learnt at my previous and less well run care home... I knew who was having you know what with which staff :S just an innocent statement followed by 'don't

Vocal Tics or Motor Tics?
All of us with Tourette's Syndrome know how loud vocal tics can effect your everyday life. They surprise us at moments when we need to be silent; they shout out the most awful things in the most embarrassing situations. For the last couple of weeks I have really tried to suppress my vocal tics, this

Will the Worm Turn?
Until a couple of days ago I wasn’t too sure about Red Ed and his suitability to lead the Labour Party, but my estimations of him are rising. I did feel somewhat dejected and as though my political leanings and beliefs were too left of centre to be considered and felt quite naive that my colleagues at
