Secret immediate gyne clinic in NI?!
Is there anyone here from Northern Ireland that knows anything about an alleged immediate gyne clinic? I am waiting for an abdominal pain clinic referal, a gyne referral to Altnagelvin Hospital in an effort to be treated by Dr. Moohan who is listed on the BSGE website, but went to A&E at the Royal Victoria

VIOXX and AFib?
I've just cottoned on to the relationship between Vioxx (Voltarol) and AFib. I took Vioxx for quite a few years to relieve the pain of arthritis in my neck until It was withdrawn from the market. Having been stuck down with bad calf pain and shin splints, I haven't run for a week now. I've done plenty of walking, Strength and Flex and calf stretching exercises to keep in the game as it were, and I've been using Voltarol gel on my shins which has helped. Last Thursday morning it was painful to

Night Time
Morning Everyone, I've been going through a fairly 'quiet' period after having my skin graft and being off work for 5 weeks over the festive period and I think the rest did me a world of good. One symptom I have in varying degrees which is quite bothersome is very stiff and clicking joints of a night

The doctor gave me

to rub on my elbows, but do I have to do this forever?? Uhh… why is this happening? How can I fix this? I've even thought about trying LDN instead (when mentioned to my rheumy she said there weren't enough studies on it.) I've also cut out dairy and gluten.

Voltarol Emulgel for swollen hands and wrists.
Hi. Have recently had a total hip replacement and while that's gone really well, my hands and wrists are swelling due to using crutches. Wondered if anyone else has had this problem and whether applying Voltarol Gel might help. I am on all the prescribed medication for my rheumatoid disease and the gel

Any advice on swelling? I've tried ice and feet up. Anything else?
My first rheumatologist appt is on 2/7 so I don't even have an official diagnosis. I take paracetamol, co-codomol at night, Voltarol gel morning and night. I can cope with the pain in my joints. The swelling in hands and ankles is the thing that's really stopping me. Any interim advice?

It's a beautiful day...
I was lucky enough to feel up to a walk this morning, with my sacroiliac belt pulled tight and bathed in voltarol gel. I thought I'd share a pic with for those of you who might be feeling poorly today, to see if the scenery can lift your spirits too. Gentle hugs xxxx

Back spasm!
I was just getting ready to settle down & enjoy new year`s tv, when I simply turned round & my lower back suddenly spasmed up. I was unable to stand up without being in agony. It`s not the first time this has happened. Painkillers don`t help much,& neither does Voltarol. Does anyone on this site know

This & that!
The results from my bone density showed that I don't have osteo poreosis so that's good news which probably means the back is due to OA :( I'm still waiting for a date for my knee replacement which had been planned for Oct/Nov - I'm way over the 18 weeks as the main theatres at the hospital were closed

Chronic Back Pain/Disc Trouble, Voltarol Prescription
I have suffered with terrible back pain since the age of 19. I was very fit and active as a younger man. Unfortunately I was only diagnosed correctly after Physio and other GP recommended treatments had intensified the pain and caused a situation where I spent 7 weeks on the floor and about 4 months

Since I complained to the doctor I didn't feel right I have had my dosage upped by 50 mcg and my tsh has gone from 4.07 to 0.012 (0.35-5.5) But my ft 4 has only changed from 14.6 to 15.5 (10-22.7) And my ft3 is 4.6 which hasn't changed at all (3.5-6.5) I am at a loss where to go with it all everytime

Pain killer advice please! - At the moment taking Meveberine, Diclofenac, Co-codamol and still get pain.
My pain goes like this: Period pain (actually not too bad, paracetamol or naproxen will work) Ovulation pain last for a few days to a week. Stabbing pain on left side or right side depending on which month. none on the painkiller works. The pain goes from tummy where ovary is to bottom. Feels

Can anyone give me any advice on coping with pain?!
To cut a long story short- I was previously one of the lucky ones who only experienced pain during period and maybe the week before. I hadn't found anyway of dulling the pain but could grit my teeth and get through it knowing it wouldn't last long. However since my last lap I have been experiencing

What can I expect?
I am seeing my Rheumatologist later this week and wondered what sort of routine I can expect. I was diagnosed a few weeks ago and sent off for a month with Hydoxychloroquine and voltarol. Should I be expecting more blood tests? I'm asking this question as I am not in the UK so probably the protocols
