Thyroid question please...
Hi everyone, I am writing to ask if you can have a sore thyroid without significant enlargement and with 'normal' bloods? I have had 'normal' bloods, it doesn't seem visually enlarged, though I feel like I am being strangled and have audible sounds when I swallow in my ears. When I move my head something

Thorne Basic B Alternative
Good morning team! I started taking Thorne Basic B yesterday and I am not reacting well to it. My private blood results should be back today and I'll hold off purchasing anything else until then but I was hoping someone could recommend a complex with lower dosages, please? I don't know if it's the

Any tips for Natural Modified FET (boost lining)?
Hi everyone, I have a persistent thinnish lining (around 6 to 7mm) after an episode of abnormal bleeding between periods (turned out to be silent endo and a polyp that did not show up on ultrasound). Before that, 11mm was my average. After failing a recent FET, my doctor decided to monitor my lining

Blood Test Results
Hi I have trouble getting a GP appointment - in that I never get one. Test results are relayed via the receptionist so never any opportunity to ask questions. This is the latest test and as a result I've been told to vary my dose (normally 125mcg) taking 100mcg alternate days, 125mcg on the others.

Eligard and bicalutamide.
Started eligard and bicalutamide post RP in 2018. Followed advice of urologist until 2022. New urologist took me off both after PSA of 0.01. Unfortunately, l did not receive advice about secondary effects of the above drugs-osteoporosis etc. A DEXA scan in 2022 revealed high possibility of bone fractures

Do I need to increase folic acid/folate intake with B12 shots?
Hello all, I am within one week of taking daily b12 injections as a loading dose. A group on Facebook advise a protocol of taking 5mg of folic acid daily as it is a cofactor for b12. I get that part but I’m checking whether it’s necessary to take such a high amount of folic acid if, prior to starting

Alcohol and B12/folate deficiency
Just wondering if any of you lovely people avoid alcohol? I haven't felt much like drinking recently but when I have, I feel absolutely awful the next day. Just wondering if it's just extra pressure on the body that makes me feel bad or if there's a proven connection I haven't come across yet? Thanks

long term omeprazole use
I was taking omeprazole for about 15 years and stopped in December last year, as I had done some research and found out it can affect stomach acid. No one told me to stop taking it. I don’t even know why I was put on it in the first place, up I think it was for IBS. I haven’t had any acid reflux or indigestion

Origin of Loading
Does anyone know the origin of the practice of prescribing loading doses? For lack of better information I have been using the assumption that it is a hol over from when B12 was first synthesized over 1/2 a century ago. That the practice originated when B12 deficiency was thought to be a hematological

Folate timing
Good morning, I’m taking folate as we’re trying for a baby and I’ve read this is better than folic acid. My question is do I need to take it at a different time to levothyroxine? I take it 30 mins to an hour after, but I’m not sure if it’s like iron and should be several hours apart. Many thanks for

Just a moan - appointment cancelled
So just need a quick rant to people who understand so I can move on and get on with my day. Booked my 8 weekly jab no options on the day only 2 days before or a week late, was told they'd have to message the GP for permission to book early so I explained that by a week late I will be feeling very ill

Would like some suggestions for a B complex product with low dose B12 and folate please
Homocysteine Nutrients
https://www.seekinghealth.com/products/homocysteine-nutrients I really like the sound of this product but I’m concerned about the B vitamins that are missing, namely B3 and B1. It also doesn’t have inositol, choline or biotin, although I don’t know how important they

CFS clinic
Hello 👋 At last GP appt I was told that my symptoms couldn't be thyroid related and have been referred to CFS clinic. I'm not yet out of range TSH wise. I haven't tested privately recently as I've just increased all recommended vitamins so will give those chance to work before a new test. Just wondering

Needing advice/suggestions re tweaking NDT
Hello everyone: Hope you’re all doing as well as can be. So, I’m presently taking 90 Erfa + 25 Synthroid, all at once upon waking. I need to make some changes because I’ve lost half the hair on my head, gained 7 lbs and can’t loose the weight, diet has not changed. Been on NDT for the past 2-3 years

I Don't Want to Inject
Someone was exploring sublingual and oral B12 supplementation and wrote. “I don’t want to inject.” I thought me either. This led to me understanding how much I object to injecting. I object to not being able to just head out and only worry about clothes and food. I am traveling a couple of days

A One Time Experience
Trial at the time; 1.5 mg Methylcobalamin, 1.5 mg Adenosylcobalamin, 1 mg Hydroxocobalamin. 5 times a day including setting an alarm to inject at night. 50 mg P-5-P B5 twice a day to prevent extreme pain of peripheral neuropathy due to B6 deficiency. I had been working with the concept that if I pushed
