Thanks to Cherylclairefor highlighting the article. It contained many interesting points and I thought I’d start a new thread about it. I was particularly struck by his comment that the first impression you create with your doctor is so important. Given that appointments with our gp are so short how does

Hello I was diagnosed with PMR and GCA in November 2018 and have been slowly tapering my prednisone from 60 mg to 4.5 mg currently. I was prescribed AA and vit D/K at the same time. This resonates with me.
Sometimes when a thought comes from someone else it resonates with me. This one is my thought. Treating B12 deficency could be better expressed as treating the damage caused by having been B12 deficient. Severity of symptoms could be better expressed as the amount of damage caused by B12 deficiency

Vitamin B Complex
Hi All! Please could you advise if this b complex is good? I just bought it. I’d like to ask if the folic acid is sufficient for supplementation? It says to take 2 a day. I don’t have my results on me but my folic acid was low in range. Also I’m taking 1000mcg of b12 in active form (methylconalamin

Vitamin B6 Toxicity: Available Testing of B6 Plasma Level Does NOT Tell You What You Need to Know

Background
: Vitamin B6 participates as a coenzyme in over 100 different biochemical reactions. When it does so it is converted to the inactive form, pyridoxine. The body contains a recycling loop that restores the pyridoxine to the active form, P5P. Vitamin B2 is required for this process

Insomnia - Could nightime liothyronine exacerbate it?
Hi, I've just read: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/148510755/liothyronine-brands-and-insomnia. As ever the answer seems to be "it depends"! Some better on or off lio, some better at bedtime or on waking, etc. My sleep pattern is (roughly) one half-decent sleep followed by an utterly awful

I wrote on October 10th 2023 ( apparently ,as a vague recollection as alot going on ) Had a reply today. My complaint about inconsistency in prescribing b12 . Lack of training with Gps and nurses. Ignoring clear NICE guidelines. Challenging my prescription time and time again. Withholding treatment

New diagnosis - MBL or CLL?
Hello again - updated name and avatar. Previously Dogsta. Well, after a strange 3 or 4 weeks I finally was given a diagnosis of CLL by the Haematologist but after checking on here and elsewhere I am now a bit confused. The flow cytometry came back with MBL (CLL phenotype) but just below the threshold

Frequency of B12 injections
I have just been for my usual injection after 10 weeks and 2 days and it has been refused because it's not 12 weeks since the last one.I have had injections every 10 weeks for 18 years since I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia. I was told at the start the injections were due every 10 to 12 weeks

Hypothesis IV
That the body when injected less than every 4 to six hours (I have not yet determined what interval or amount that is appropriate for me) goes through a process that is detrimental to healing as the body waits for the next injection. Over time infrequent injections may result in improvement. AKA
