First SI! I did it!!
After having lots of advice from you lovely forum members I purchased all my supplies (apohealth.de. and Medisave), and have sat looking at them over the past week trying to pluck up courage to administer my first SI subcutaneous jab..... Can't tell you how many times I got the stuff out and then put

Preparing for GP appt
Hello I have a GP appointment in a few weeks to discuss blood tests results and symptoms (tiredness, weight gain, low mood, pins and needles). Based on what I've read on this forum, it sounds like these symptoms and results could be indicative of hypothyroid, but because TSH is within range I'm unlikely

Tiny Levo increase but FT4 well over range
Just got results back from MMH. I’ll add historical results for comparison but they may be irrelevant as I am where I am! I take Levo only. Ranges were 3.1-6 for FT3 and 12-22 for all tests. 2021 on 100mcg TSH 0.01 FT4 24.9=129% (12-22) FT3 6.5=91.89% (3.1-6.8) Note: insomnia much improved

Cobasorb test in draft Nice guidelines - is it useful?
On page 13 of the draft guidelines a cobasorb test is mentioned to measure b12 absorption. Is this an old test/new test/useful test/should be deleted from the guidelines as useless test? I looked it up but mentions seem to be from a few years ago. Thank you.

Active B12 & TSAT
My test result for Active B12 is 113 pmol/L. Is this a good result, or should I take supplements to improve it? And for TSAT it's 49% which is right at the top of normal. Should I be concerned about that? Interested to hear opinions anyone cares to share.

subclinical - do I need levo?
I have been borderline Subclinical hypothyroidism for around 10 years. The GP put me on levothyroxine 2013, I took a low dose for a month or two but couldn’t tolerate it (palpitations), so I stopped. I was referred to Endo who did a check on my antibodies - was clear. Every year, my tsh was either just

b12 injections making me worse
Hi, My bloods came back as having a serum b12 of 73 so my doctor started me on b12 injections. I have had 3 out of 6 so far, but instead of feeling better my symptoms seem to be getting worse. I can't think straight and missed my 4th b12 injection today because I thought it was at a different time

Results
Hello everyone. Firstly I want to say a big thanks to everyone that helped me understand my mum's results and situation. I also got my wires crossed and gave some wrong info. My mum did have a test before they prescribed 25mg, TSH 8.58. They said as she was 'borderline' they would try levo before considering

Questions about TSH and advice on results over the past year much appreciated
Hi everybody, I've posted several times lately and I just wanted to ask for advice on thyroid related issues. I had COVID 3 times from June 22 - Jan 23 and was symptomatic each time. I did have a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia in 2018 but had been feeling a lot better in 2020 until I got COVID. Above

Nitrofurantoin Antibiotics up date
I have been really frightened this last week. I thought I might be seriously ill. So many of my symptoms have returned in such a short time. A swift full on comeback of anxiety and exhaustion where I don't even want to wash myself. Even got oral thrush. Can't believe this.I've seen a doctor who did listen

B12 is up from 185 pg/mL to 811 pg/mL
B12 levels are up to 811 now. Does that mean that it will continue to repair damage until the numbers come down over time. Just confused on how it works on the body. Guessing the reserve of b12 will just continue to heal things over time. Thanks

Dietary Approaches to Improve Efficacy and Control Side Effects of Levodopa Therapy in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review
I was researching supplement BCAA provided by my husband's functional medicine MD. I was surprised to find one of the ingredients was listed as a major contraindication with levodopa. L-Phenylalanine. Dug a little deeper and it related to protein and impact on levodopa. Found an interesting article
