Abnormal chest tightness
I just wondered how other peoples chest tightness in relation to asthma manifests itself? I usually find that the front of my chest gets tight, as though someone is sat on my chest, but recently I've found that I'm getting tightness across the back too, almost like my back muscles are knotted and i

does anyone know where to buy the medication for a nebuliser (ventolin) as it is my GP's policy not to allow patients a home nebuliser. ?
I have had asthma for around 10 years and use seretide and ventolin accuhalers. I have now been started on Spiriva, but feel I would benefit from a nebuliser, but I cannot find the medication on line. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Not much change in peak flow during huge flare up - confused
I've been reading various bits and pieces of previous posts over the last while which mention this but I just wondered if as anyone in same position or can shed any light on this? . My peak flow readings vary very little despite major symptoms. I have almost always been 450 when well controlled and

New here -consultant referal - what can I expect?
Hi all, I'm new here. Thought I'd sign up and ask a few things since I've been lurking the forum quite a lot over the past weeks and it's been very useful. I was diagnosed about five years ago by a respiratory consultant I was refered to due to anaphylaxis/general allergy issues (no allergy specialists

Candles and copd?
I went to my nephews 21st last night and had a few glasses of champagne and feeling a bit rough now. I finished the anti and steroids on Friday but I feel so shattered and my chest is tight. There were lots of lovely candles in the room and I started coughing badly it was so embarrassing, people started

HELP!! My Netball Coach is Driving Me Crazy!!!
Hi there, I am a passionate netball fan. I enjoy playing with my sixth form team and I can't help but love a bit of healthy competition!! But only just recently my coaches have started to become reluctant to put me on the team because of my asthma. As soon as I start playing sport, I breathe very deeply

Strange symptoms over the years - asthma?
Hello forum, this is my first post and I really really need your insight. Before I begin - I'm not here for diagnosis since I was already diagnosed a long time ago, I would just like to see if anyone else felt the same to confirm/deny some of my fears. I most certainly will see a doctor about this as

That cough!
I've forgotten how I should use the forum properly, yet it is related to an entry I made in Sept 2012. The cough has come back, an utter nuisance. Ventolin would reduce it for a short time. My asthma nurse said my airways are clear and there's no infection, if it persists I should return after Christmas

New to this site.
Hi everyone, I have been reading some amazing accounts of peoples experiences on this site, and some valuable information and advice. I have not actually been diagnosed with COPD as yet. However my grandfather died at the age of 77 from emphysema, and then my mother, his daughter at 55 with same condition
