Awful chronic nausea
I have had PMR for over 11years and still on 11mgs. I have never been pain free. This morning I had a gastroscopy because I have been suffering worsening nausea over the last 18 months or so. At first I didn’t realise it was all connected because it came and went. Now it is daily and has been making

An alarming visit: Rheumy suggested infusing with 500 mg per day for 4 days after I've already been tapering for 4 months
Hi all, I'm a GCA patient, diagnosed in AUG via a positive Temporal Artery Biopsy. I started on 60 mg for 2 weeks, then 50 for 2 weeks, etc. down to 20 mg at which I've been holding for about 5 weeks. Yes, I realize this is a rapid taper, but that's what my GP and Rheumy suggested so I followed their

Eye Bag/Eye Mask
Hello my dear Lupus Warriors To bring you good vibes with my Optician's recommendation yesterday - Eye Bag/Eye Mask. Boots had on offer £10.99 and it works a treat. As part of Sjogren's Syndrome - my eyes are very dry but of late have been soooo dry. Optician explained and tested my tear film, with

Bubbling sensations in the rectum area and very low gurgling sounds, has anyone had the same?
I have had blood tests and a colonoscopy. Everything is fine apart from high iron levels. But I was just wondering if anyone has had the same sensations/symptoms in the subject line? Any advice or reply from someone that has had the same symptoms would be appreciated. I have also just had a FIT test

Ulcerative Colitis or Colon Cancer? (sorry for the nasty photos. 1 here & 1 below in reply!) (Couldn't figure out how to inc. 2 in my post)
I'm a 67 female with R.A. After several days having horrible cramping and gas and the strangest loose stool I have ever seen, my dr ordered two stool tests - the Fecal Occult Blood Immunochemical and the new test, the Microbiology Infectious Diarrhea Panel (which just came out two months ago and checks

Seeking Advice from fellow teachers and coping in the classroom
I teach computing to 16-19 yr olds. Are there any teacher or members who have a similar challenge that could share advice? I have mild hearing loss, with tinnitus 24/7 and hyperacusis. In the classroom, interaction is difficult. I have a lot of trouble focusing. Conversations with students are very

Hydroxycarbamide long term
Hi I have taken Hydroxycarbamide for 16 years. I started very soon after being diagnosed with PV at age 51 and take 1000mgs per day. My blood results have remained very stable, only had one rise in my platelet levels when I had a chest infection about 5 years ago. I’ve haven’t had any side effects

Gastroenterology tel appointment
Finally had my annual gastro appointment. It was a bad line and he talked very fast. Seemed like he was reading a script and was hardly listening to me as he had already made up his mind. He said all my tests were normal and I have IBS. I already know that! He said I have a healthy bowel. By now I

Unaware of own self
My pop, in a resthome, now seems very unaware of his own self. Biggest indicator is when he is put on the toilet seat by resthome staff which is a big event in itself. Once hes on, he is not aware and is still 'holding it in' so to speak. If we are there visiting, he will say something like "am

prucalopride - Tips
Hi Have been suffering with chronic constipation for that last 2 years, plus pain in the pelvic floor area & rectum. Mixture of pressure & burning pain. My NHS Gastro & physio appointments are currently 3/4mths apart so if I make any kind of improvement it is diminished by the time I get back to them
