I have had long term UTIs arising post radiation therapy. I also have bile salts malabsorption which causes bowel issues so it’s not always easy to keep myself as clean as I would like and I have been told this is likely to be the cause of the repeated UTIs Up until recently for approx 6 years

UPDATE: Eyes Irritated, Itching, Etc.
The saga contines. Still mostly in bed 9 weeks now. No date for vertebral plasties or Zolendronic acid infusion...yet, inspite of many calls. My eyes are extremely irritated but now I know why. Made appointment (referred myself) to the Ophthalmology Clinic at the VG here in Halifax. Had to convince Resident

Going in for a radical Cystectomy, stopping Biologic.
Hello lovely people. My first six monthly Cystoscopy after getting the all clear from bladder cancer in January showed that the cancer was back with a vengeance. So on Monday I'll be undergoing a Radical Cystectomy. I'm OK and positive with the outlook of living without a bladder and lots of other bits

Omeprazole and Gastroscopy
I have been having digestive issues since May, lots of indigestion, acid reflux, belching etc. It comes and goes, sometimes good, sometime not, I would say I feel unwell 50% of the time. I was referred to a gastroenterologist. I had a colonoscopy last year and all was clear. Gastro decided

Menieres disease making me ill or suppresses tsh
Re my last post, all indications are that I have menieres disease; dizzy, tinnitus, nausea, vomiting etc, but my gp can't understand why I'm so exhausted too and has suggested it's because of my suppressed tsh. I have had a blood test and will attach them (can't upload more than one so will put the rest

GCA and Ear Swelling, Pressure
Can GCA cause ear swelling ? I have GCA and constant ear pressure, soreness. My general practitioner couldn’t find any thing that would cause it, nor could an ear-nose-throat doctor. Even did a hearing test and all said everything is good. Would this be a flare? I’m on Actemra and 4 mg prednisone

Atrophic Gastritis
Hi everyone, I have deen trying slippery elm to no avail for general stomach discomfort. I sometimes feel as if I have a 'fist' moving around in my stomach. The 'fist'feeling then just stays perfectly still, I then feel like I need to stretch to accomodate the 'fist' and then it feels a little better

So I woke up last night and had burning and itching on my lower legs which I have experienced intermittently since I was 9 years old. It was more constant once I started injecting. It has gone away and has not been an issue for over a year. It felt a bit different than before and I went with put some

I was diagnosed 4 years ago with relapsing remitting. In the MS community no one ever talks about lesions black holes or myelin. Why!
After my initial diagnosis on my next visit I asked my neurologist how many lesions I had. He said “ I don’t really know. This guy is one of the most renowned neurologists in the world. I said, how long have you been doing this? X years. Then what does your gut say? He said in between 50 and 75 but

sudden hearing loss
I woke up on 24 July this year with fullness and partial hearing in my right ear. Saw doc 4 days later who prescribed steroid tablets for 12 days. During that time I got a small improvement however when I stopped taking them the problems returned. I had spikes of high temperature so perhaps virus

If it’s not one thing, it's another! Update
Following on from the previous post, I had my appointment with the Ophthalmology Surgical Unit yesterday. Basically appeared to be a couple of pre-op tests to take measurements of my eyes. I’ve been given a contact number to call in a day or two to find out where on the waiting list I am. Hopefully

Interesting article: Decreased risk of dementia in patients with AF taking oral anticoagulants
https://n.neurology.org/content/early/2022/12/29/WNL.0000000000206748 “Conclusions: In patients with incident NVAF, OACs were associated with a decreased risk of dementia, particularly in the elderly. This warrants consideration when weighing the risks and benefits of anticoagulation in this population

Zoe reveals poor blood sugar control?
Can anyone explain why my blood sugar control appears to be poor? I read hypoglycaemia is uncommon except in hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s 🤷🏽♀️ I’ve just started the Zoe nutrition programme. I’m working through their introductory activities eating various combinations and seeing blood sugar responses

Ibs- C then sudden D. Any successes?
My issue is that I will be constipated for several days. Then at sudden moment, I have to go to the bathroom fast— like within a couple of minutes. And it will be total diarrhea for hours until I’m completely empty. Anyone else experience this? Any tips? it’s more pronounced when traveling. I’ll
