vascular Parkinsonism
I just learned of this condition which is similar but apparently district from PD. This condition apparently evolves more from small strokes and primarily impacts balance and gait and a weakling of the lower body. It also does not react to normal PD medication (ie. Sinemet, etc). Anyone familiar

3 years Runniversary
A reminder popped up in my calendar - today is 3 years since those first intrepid steps for C25K Since then I've run more than 1,000 km. Longest run was 10k (if you look at the medal I got from the organisers, but both Garmin and NRC have me slightly less as I was so carried away I forgot to press

Distended stomach & abdomen after ablation
Bit of a strange one this, so thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar experience and a diagnosis. I had my 2nd catheter ablation 4 days ago under Gen Aanaesthetic; the ablation, plus cardioversion, seems to have gone well (allowing for it being very early days) and the groin wound is healing

Freiberg's disease?
I started with pain in my right foot last December, associated with stiffness and itching about halfway up the foot, all causing me to limp. It feels for all the world as if there's a group of bones all bunched together which I feel like hitting with a hammer to get them back in place- I said this to

TIPS Follow Up Questions
Hi Wonderful community. You truly are wonderful and have helped me reach a dicision to have TIPS done. My follow up questions are the following: 1. Did you get ALL your varices embolized and cemented prior to TIPS? 2. Is your Portal Pressure after TIPS now below 12? I was told that is the goal.

Apixaban (Eliquis) and Omega 3 supplements
Hey All!! Question...Are others who take Apixaban (Eliquis) also taking Omega 3 supplements (that include DHA)? I've read that it could be problematic...increase length of time for bleeding, etc. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Ablation trade off?
I’ve had continuous AF for about 5 years. I’m on pradaxa and had a cardioversion last year that didn’t help. I haven’t been on any AF meds but am scheduled for a catheter ablation in two weeks. I’m still very active and don’t notice the AF much except for some general tiredness. Since ablation destroys

Palliative care, does it still exist?
I saw a consultant , for the first time since well before lockdown, on the 14th September. I'd never met him before but he was really great. He'd obviously read my notes as he asked about all my conditions, osteoporosis, swollen legs etc. He said my lung condition is now too far gone to put me through

Cholesterol
Where can I find reliable information regarding cholesterol levels. I am in the US and cardio specialist who is also a lipid specialist is confused due to so much conflicting info for people with PBC and cholesterol. My LDL is high, so is my HDL and my Triglycerides are normal. I don't have any heart

How do you take a double dose of desogestrel?
Hello, my gynaecologist has recommended I double the dose of my mini pill to try and reduce pain and stop my constant bleeding. I've struggled to find information on the best way of doing this - am I best taking one every 12 hours (eg. One at 9am and one at 9pm) or am I better off taking 2 at the same

My front teeth seem to have been pushed forward and one has overlapped

I make trying to suppress EBV a leg of my supplement strategy.
I replied to a comment with this comment, then decided to share it as a post also:
As somebody who has been exposed to EBV (mono), I make trying to suppress EBV a leg of my supplement strategy. I need to write up everything I think helps with EBV, but here is a short list: -

Modafanil experiences?
Hi all. I am hoping to hear from people who have taken modafanil (Provigil) or armodafanil (Artvigil) for profound daytime sleepiness and fatigue associated with RLS. I am at the end of my options for RLS having taken pretty much everything except dipyridamole with limited success and I continue to
