Recovery after Mitral Valve Replacement
A week since discharged from hospital after MVR. Healing well in general. 14 days since the actual operation. For example my breathing is much better and I can even sleep on my back. Although i hear the ticking sound of the mechanical valve it stopped bothering me after the first day. INR levels playing

Adrenals and flu jab
Just had an odd reaction to my flu jab. Like many of us here, I decided to get separate jabs rather than the two-together that most centres are giving in the UK. I felt alright for about two hours then a huge fatigue swept over me, legs weak, neck stiff, slightly light-headed. Thought it might be low

so I moved house Sept ! I’m on T3 conpleteley prescribes by a GP . New doctors surprise surprise say no! It’s on the red list ! You need to see an endo! I agree but it seems they have agreed to stop my T3 and only offer me Levo which I don’t convert ! That’s why I went private 11 years ago and sorted

Timing of Vitamins
Hi all Just wondering whether Vit B complex, Vit B12 & Vit D3 in black seed oil can be taken with magnesium all at the same time? i currently take Levo first thing then wait 4 hours before taking HRT.After lunch i take all the others but thinking maybe the B’s have to be apart from magnesium & D3?

HRT with mild bleeding now under 2 wk rule
I had no period for 3 and half years then went on HRT. After a month I was lightly bleeding for 2/3 days every two weeks. The nurse said this is normal and it should ease off 3-6 months. After 3 months she said keep going if I doesn’t stop I will send you for a scan. I was feeling low after 5 months

Im normal except that i dont feel that way
I have all the symptoms of Hypothyroidism so my GP ran TSH and T4 tests which came back within normal ranges so I had a private test done to see if I had antibodies. This came back as positive TPO 0.50 and TG 3.7 . I went to GP today to be told although I have antibodies and all the symptoms of Hashimotos

joint issues
anyone out there both with a history of blood clot and having ET? I am having increased issues with joint pain and recently tendonitis for 6 weeks. I know normally we get told not to use HRT especially with a history of blood clots. I have also read with new lower dose options on the market it may

Should I consider increasing my prednisolone to cover Zoledronic acid infusion?
Morning all- I need to have an infusion of Zoledronic acid next week as my latest DEXA scan has shown that I am osteoporotic again following a year of prednisolone treatment. I was originally diagnosed with osteoporosis 4 years ago at the age of 52 and was managed initially with HRT and Adcal/Vit D3

adenomyosis diagnosis
I’ve just been told that I’ve got adenomyosis last week and cyst on left ovary. I’ve been referred to gynaecologist to check out the cyst to rule out anything sinister. I never heard of adenomyosis so I googled and was rather surprised because the symptoms I was having is quite different from adenomyosis

Sad and in pain
I feel so sad and depressed. As I type this, it is causing such pain in my left arm, brings tears to my eyes - sadness or actual pain? When diagnosed with PMR in July 2020 I was convinced I would be textbook, reduce to zero pred and disease burn out in 2 years. I tapered to 3.5 in September 2021 and

Second hip replacement tomorrow
So: all dad’s affairs closed and finished. After 8 weeks alone with carers and her Alzheimer’s mum willingly moves into a care home next week and my delayed left hip replacement is tomorrow. What a dreadful few weeks. I’m off my Baricitinib and not doing too badly. I can go back on it in a couple of

Okay, it's lower extremities week, so far, I'll have the the hammer toes pinned (insurance approved) in December. The Carbon fiber AFO snapped when I stepped off the edge of a sidewalk, many little pieces of carbon fiber were stuck down into the ankle and lower leg, leg &ankle are patched up, STRONGER

Non-RLS but Potassium, cant find a more apt notice board
Wife is due hip replacement. NHS promised 3-4 years, so trying to go private.. On monday is the op, but Potassium level is low. A second test result is awaited tomorrow. So they won't operate if the P is low. So what is plan B, please? I am worried about her mental condition if they say no a second

P M R ?
I was diagnosed with GCA in March 2016. After a rocky ride with a few flares I came off Prednisolone on 10 August this year. From 5mg onwards I reduced Prednisolone using the dead slow taper and only reduced by 0.25mg at a time. That took 3 years to reduce from 5mg to zero and I was feeling

Prolia use
I took Prolia for 3 years and had many uti s though I am susceptible to them. The consultant said if I couldn’t take it he couldn’t help me. This was roughly 2016 and my hip had already fractured with no trauma whilst on it. I had also about 5 spinal fractures, all treated with vertibroplasty. It took
