Endoscopy was a bust.............
He has hinted that i might need a
valve
replacement
as it is thickening quite a lot. I don't remember much about it as the sedation was working and afterwards he said they couldn't get the tube down.

Waxing or hair removal when on Warfarin
I just had a mechanical
valve
replacement
on the 16th of August 2023. I would like to get waxed. Is it possible to? I have never bled before warfarin. Are there other hair removal methods that are safer or can I stick to waxing?

Painful legs (burning sensation behind both knees)
As some of you know I have heart disease (pacemaker,
valve
replacement
, double bypass and endocarditis), could this be related and, if so, will it wait until the my planned review? Thanks a lot

Valve replacement
hellooo, I am 25 years old and due to have
valve
replacement
surgery at some point (not sure when, just waiting for the right time) I have Truncus Arteriosus and had
valve
replacement
surgery when I was a baby but haven’t needed one just yet since. My question is… I am currently always tired.

Aortic Valve Replacement
I was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis about 8 years ago. I have been monitored regularly and it has gone from mild to now severe. I am having the op soon and to be honest I’m really nervous of complications etc. has anyone out there whose had the op got any advice please.

Aortic Stenosis I’m so confused!
There doesn’t however seem to be any urgency around it- no one has mentioned a
valve
replacement
despite me knowing it is inevitable. I am not on any medication?? Should I be?? I want to join a gym butI don’t know what exercises are safe as no one can seem to tell me. Honestly, I’m so confused!

medication after open heart surgery
is there anyone on this site who has had a heart
valve
replacement
and is now using biologic meds to control their ra? If so, I’d love to hear your experience. I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve which needed replacing in June (an event hastened by a toxic reaction to leflunomide).

Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
I wasn’t given any treatment because I was already on Warfarin due to my aortic
valve
replacement
in March 2015. I finally saw a consultant about the AFib in May 2023 and was put on Isosorbide Mononitrate due to chest pains on exertion.

Post release advice
it’s day 4 after a
valve
replacement
, web removal and wall reduction, all has gone great and if the wire removal, X ray etc go well today I can leave. the temptation is to stay for support but think that’s normal nerves!

recovery expectations
Hi all I’m coming up to 5 weeks after
valve
replacement
, removal of web and thinning of thickened muscle. Had x ray and ecg, 60% healed and function looking good apparently. Which is great news. I’ve been walking each day, I’m up to a couple of miles and on short hills BPM up to 130.

Aortic valve replacement recuperation
Hi, I am scheduled for AVR (hemi-sternotomy and tissue valve) on 8 May and am interested to hear of others feedback as to recuperation. If all goes well with the op I expect to back home within the week. I've been told that after 6 weeks I should be back doing most daily activities. albeit gradually
