Did everyone have as much trouble getting a definitive diagnosis as I am having?
I've had two biopsies. The first was inconclusive and the second stated AIH, with features of PBC and sclerosing cholangitis. My consultant retired and have just seen my new one (gastro). Blood tests (yet again) because "something else might be causing tiredness." Arghhh!!! The first biopsy evidently

PBC Diagnosed in 2004. Now the itching has started. Advice needed.
My PbC was diagnoswd in 2004. Not many symptoms since except for the tiredness. Told in hospital that my blood results were in "normal limits" although I am now seen every 6 months, have an AFP test and an ultrasound every 6 months too. First went to Gp with complaints about my legs, discloured,

Gastroenterologist or Hepatologist
Could anyone explain the difference between a Gastroenterologist and a Hepatologist and which one I should see for my PBC if there is a difference. I saw a Gastroenterologist for my diagnosis. He told me I had PBC, told me that the tiredness was nothing to do with the PBC because my liver is not to

Bile
I have a very dry mouth but for quite a while now (months) I get like a thick bile in the back of my throat which starts me coughing, choking, then can nearly be sick (its completely different from acid reflux). Just wondered if anyone else had anything like this as to whether it might have some relation

Dizziness after travel
Does anyone else experience severs dizziness following travel by boat, train or plane? I am fine while actually travelling and never experience nausea even in very rough weather. However, a few hours after travel I feel extremely dizzy and feel that I am going to fall over. I can only look straight

What is the brand name of your URSO if you had the itch upon starting and how is your prescription for it written.
I can't help wondering what others are on for PBC medication-wise with regards to the URSO. I have the URDOX brand and my GP gives me a prescription with just Ursodeoxycholic Acid and the mgs/tabs per day. Have heard such a thing as generic drugs but not fully sure what that means and if so, are there

How do you deal with gastroparesis?
I have been diagnosed with bile reflux disease and erosive gastritis which the doctor states is being aggravated by my gastroparesis. According to the GI gastroparesis is rather common in PD and I know that I have been diagnosed with it for at least 2 years longer than I have with PD. Anyway, if I

Am I the only one not taking URSO with a PBC diagnosis?
Should everyone with a PBC diagnosis be taking URSO? Whilst being investigated for a myriad of symptons (turns out at 52 I am menopausal and am now on high dose HRT - another story) I was diagnosed last year with PBC. I was told I was early stage PBC and my LFTs were within normal range. At the follow

Anxious about pbc
I got diagnosed with pbc in October 2011. I have been taking urso twice a day and my lft's are improving. I also have a heitus hernia which seems to be common with pbc. I get tired easily at times and struggle to get going in the morning, but i have a toddler that keeps me very busy and work part time

advanced stage, what does that mean for me?
I was diagnosed in 2009 after severe itching for just under a year, and numerous other symptoms-fatigue, unexplained bruising etc. I have twice reacted badly to itch remedies and my lft's have frequently been discribed as "significantly raised" the most recent bloods saw both ALT and AST in the two
