I figured out why I couldn't tolerate antibiotics (caused severe burning) after developing SFN from B12 Deficiency
TL;DR I was able to succesfully use
Uva
Ursi
and Antibiotics by combing them with an antihistamine (
Uva
Ursi
and the antibiotics previously caused severe burning sensation of my skin.)

I am now able to tolerate antibiotics again after my nerves healed
I even reacted the same ways to certain supplements as well, such as
Uva
Ursi
, and supplements containing a lot of glycerol (this may be due to changes in osmolality). All would cause nerve pains. Anyway, by late summer 2023, I had to take Trimethoprim due to kidney pains from the infection.

Don't Underestimate Yourself
I have for the last 7+ years I have had the privilege of facilitating a support group for those who have been diagnosed with PBC. I can honestly say that there is not a more brave or determined group of men and women. None of us know what the future holds once we're diagnosed. Will the Urso work? Will

Why would my Alk Phos go up after just starting urso?
Hi All, I have a question and wondered if anyone had an answer to if they had a similar experience. I just started taking Urso and have been on it now close to a month my recent blood work shows that my Alk Phos has increased rather than decreased. While I know it may take awhile for Urso to potentially

Rheumatoid?
So….because I was suffering from lower back pain (not sure if it is from PBC, URSO or an injury just before diagnosis!), i could not play Pickleball over the winter months. another pharma update
This is in regards to the pharma Ipsen... They are trialing a drug called Elafibranor. It is being used for treatment in PBC, biliary atresia (in children) , PSC, Alagille Syndrome, and Primary Familial Cholestasis. With patients taking Urso, often up to 40% do not see improvement. 3-5% of patients

Seladelpar update
About a month or more ago, I wrote about this upcoming drug's potentially to be the next drug for second line treatment. By that I mean that for some reason someone was not responding to or not able to take Urso. 40% of patients are failed by Urso. Cymabay, the pharma who manufacturers Seladelpar,

What if?
I mentioned to you that one of the main premises of the Summit was to think about "what ifs" that we could change about how PBC is perceived and/or treated. One of these suggestions was "
what if
" we could totally eliminate the use of placebos in all clinical trials. Some of you may have participated

Possible Sjogren’s
I was diagnosed with PBC in 2005 and have been on URSO since diagnosis. No significant change in my PBC in all these years. Also, have Hashimoto’s 2016, and Oral Lichen Planus 2021. Recently, I was in the ER because I developed a speech issue. My family thought it was a stroke. Bottom line is, all the

Brain Fog
Good morning, I was diagnosed in November from routine bloodwork with PBC. Started URSO immediately, but at 750 mg URSO daily which, at 61 kg, may not be enough. I dont have tests again until mid May. Can it still have some positive effect? Can brain fog be a result of URSO not working? I can

Ursodeoxycholic acid
Hi, I've been on urso 2000mg daily for 8 years now, but it seems to give me diarrhoea lately. Does anyone else have this trouble, also does it mean it has stopped working? Thank you for any help.

Hair loss from Urso
Hi all! Has anyone had hair loss from URSO that re-grew when/if you stopped? I seem to be thinning more + my eyebrows are thinning. I'm wondering also if TUDCA also causes hair loss. Or if that may be a good alternative.

Experiences with urso, ocaliva and bezafibrate
Hi everyone!I was just curious about your experiences taking a combination of udca, ocaliva 10 mg and bezafibrates. Does it improve the itching? Did you notice any unwanted side effect from bezafibrate, e.g. in kidneys? Thanks for sharing and stay healthy and motivated!
