cold showers
Possibly a bit left-field but scientists suggest that cold water immersion MAY improve immune system. I think the proposal is that the shock causes the adrenal gland to go into hyperdrive. I suspect that my adrenal gland has gone to sleep and is not eager to get back to work as I go below 10mg Prednisolone

Cold cap
Hello, I am facing my second round of chemo for ovarian cancer. Fortunately my last one was in 2018. I was thinking of using the cold cap to keep from losing my hair this time. I wanted to find out if anyone in this site has had experience with it. Would love to hear from you! Jean

Journey to diagnosis
Hi everyone, hope you’re ok. I’m new here and have been under rheumatology for a year now. I’ve got multiple health conditions and understand that it takes a while to get diagnosed due to the crossover in symptoms. My ANA keeps switching between positive and negative, but the nurse said that happens

Sinusitis side effect with Atrovent and Spiriva
Hi, after a flare up of asthma I was given Atrovent in addition to my Fostair, prednisolone, antibiotics (I had a raised temperature) and anti histamine. After a few days I developed sinus symptoms (which I’ve had on and off for years). I feel awful whenever I get this, not intense pain, but a pressure

A bad cold or a flare?
I was diagnosed in May 2019 with PMR and GCA. I was started on 40mg of pred and am currently on 7mg after a bit of a struggle coming down from 8mg. I have had a really bad cold for nine days- a present from my granddaughter. On day 3 I couldn’t do a thing. Total fatigue. Then the following 3 days just

A strange question?
I have a cold sensation going down my left leg, only my left leg. It’s driving me mad. It’s there all the time, particularly bad when exercising. It runs down the outside of my leg. It feels like my jeans are damp or I’m sitting in a draught. It’s even there when I’m in bed, it’s like icy cold but when

Recovery time after cervical polyp removal
Hi, I have a hospital appointment to remove a small cervical polyp. If you’ve had this procedure, how long after were you able to do physical activity, such as heavy lifting or walking a strong dog that pulls occasionally? Did the hospital insist that someone accompanied you home after the procedure

I have Pleurisy and feel dizzy all of the time
1 month ago I explained to my doctor that I had a hacking dry cough for several months that was getting worse. I also had a tightness in my chest, but I do have mild stable Angina. He arranged an x-ray. When I had the x ray they asked me to stay at the hospital. They drained two litres of clear, urine

I came out the other side a changed man but I’m struggling to come to terms with what is happening with my body at times!
