Statins for heart failure
I was diagnosed with heart failure caused by high BP over 20 years ago, but it was mild. 2 years ago, I had surgery for an aortic valve replacement and an ascending aortic aneurysm.. At a recent medication review, one of the GPs in my practice, who I don't particularly trust, from past experiences,

Statins
Hello fellow fighters of CKD. I am now stage 3 again (eGFR 57, Creatinine 91) having managed to climb up to stage 4 and stayed there over the last 4 years through changes in diet and exercise. For the past year I’ve been taking Bisoprolol for palpitations and recently Ramipril for high blood pressure

Hello
Hi everyone, just wanted to thank all the people who helped be make the decision to try statins. So far I’ve had zero side effects. Time will tell of course if they work to lower my cholesterol but I just wanted to say thanks 😊

Fed up with meds
Anyone else just fed up with their meds? Diagnosed with MCTD and inflammatory arthritis in 2020. Steroids were amazing but obviously can't stay on them and I think they affected my blood sugar. Methotrexate made my hair fallout. Now on mycophenolate which keeps causing my wcc to drop. I am still taking

PMR and CK
I have GCA but am now off prednisone completely. However, am now having pain: shoulder, knees, thighs. Rheumy watching and sorting out PMR vs. medication induced ( from zetia a non statin cholesterol medication known to cause muscle pain) ( I had to go off statins because of severe muscle pain and elevated.CK

Statins
I have had RLS for close to 20 years and it has progressively got worse. I am on Pexola 1mg at night. I had heart surgery six years ago and am on 5mg of Zuvamor as a precautionary measure. Should I rather take my heart medication in the morning as I am now reading that it can affect the RLS?

Geranylgeraniol (GG), Tocotrienols, Ubiquinol (CoQ10), & statins and their relationship w/ lipids, heart health and APC patient treatments.
It's always difficult to present complex topics on this website, which involve anything more than one drug, treatment, or supplement and there relationship/affect on APC outcomes. It's obvious that it's easier to show a double-blind study of only one treatment/drug etc. and not mix several treatments

General feedback
Hi All, I said to my doctor the other day, this is my first go at 52, therefore I don't know what I know. I had a heart attack 5 years ago and had my main artery stented, apparently all other arteries were fine. They put me on 80MG Statin and 5 MG bisopromol. In the last 6 months due to the fact I generally

Statins.
I recently stopped taking my statin as I found a definite correlation between how well I slept. I have always taken my statin Atorvastatin as prescribed one at night before I go to bed.I could be literally falling asleep and took the statin and hey presto suddenly no longer tired. Plus as it is with

Good morning,
I hope everyone is as well as can be. A little about me. From roughly the age of 18, I could feel something going on in my heart. Eventually I happened to marry someone who’s Mum was a cardiology tech at the Local hospital. I had a really bad run of it one weekend and managed to get a tracing done

prevastatin 10mg
my Doctors have been trying to get my cholesterol down further they tried three statins I asked to try a very low dose ofPrevastatin 10mg started this 4th July. I haven’t experienced any side effects so far that’s good but I am very nervous as I know statins can effect your liver. This last week

Hives on scalp
I haven't posted for a while but I developed Hives on my scalp, few itchy spots on my upper body and itchy ears in February. Was given fexofenadine and lotion which calmed the itching down but never went away, every time I've tried to stop the antihistamine I have to start it again. I've got oral lichen

Antihistamines
Hi. I've been using Nasacort to relieve allergies for a year or so. It seems to be getting less effective. What other antihistamines can RLS sufferers use safely.? Also what statins are O.K.to use? Great group. Lots of information. Thanks. Jim

statins
I’m currently not taking statins. My GP has just called to say we’d like to put you on them, risk of stroke at 15% apparently and anyone over 10 should be treated. I politely said I felt I had enough going on drugwise, without adding another. anyone else any experience of how this would fit with steroids
