Feeling very hopeless at this point.
My husband was diagnosed in 2011 at age 52, gleason 8, 11 of 12 cores positive. We went for many many 2nd opinions, surgery or radiation? finally chose radiation as all doctors said it had spread already and would need radiation anyway after surgery. Treated with Snuffy Myers in Virginia until his

de novo metastatic prostate cancer
hello, I was diagnosed in march with a very aggressive and advanced case, with many skeletal lesions - high volume/high risk. I’ve been on degarelix/Firmagon and Abiraterone for the past 3.5 months and it seems to be working well - just had my 3 month scans. And the terrible fatigue is under control

PSA dropping and % free ratio rising - why?
OK, so as you can see from my Bio, I live in Australia and was due to start my HT this month. However, on Dec 5th, we decided to do another PSA test and surprisingly it had dropped from 8.1 in July to 4.9, so I thought maybe we should get another MRI to see what is going on. I had the MRI only a few

"Two Invitae CHEK2 variants of "unknown consequence""
Hello - My Hopkins MO says this genetics test indicates a weakness (CHEK2 is one of the 4 or 5 PCa related variants) he thinks this could have contributed to my premature, two year BCR after RP, so he will likely prescribe chemo sooner than later though PSA will be the prime indicator. Further he suggested

pros and con of a hysterectomy
hi all I’ve been told I’m going to be put on the waiting list. It could be years before I get one for a hysterectomy. I want to know the pros and cons in your opinion was it worth it for those I’ve had one personally, I am desperate for one week as I’ve had enough of the ProStap injections I desperately

How high must the PSA levels be before cancer can be seen in a CT scan?
Following the end of my treatment (radiation, lupron, Zytiga, prednisone) with curative intent back in May, my PSA has risen from undetectable to 0.09. As discussed on another thread this is not alarming at this stage since I still have a prostate as I never had surgery to remove it. However I am

How to find a MO Specializing in PCa
I just completed a clinical trial lasting two years. My PSA has slowly risen from 0.06 to 0.12 over the last 15 months or so. My medical team was surgical and now I'd like to move to monitoring with a qualified MO as my PSA moves upward. Where does one start to find an MO who's focused on PCa? The

Blood in Urine
Hi fellow fighters Had blood in my urine the last 10 days. Hoped it was a UTI but a course of antibiotics has failed. I had a bladder neck incision last June to help urinary flow. The urologist saw a suspicious patch and a biopsy confirmed it my prostate cancer has spread to my bladder. I’m hoping

Placenta Previa
Hi All, I’m just looking for a bit of advice really from anyone who has had placenta previa. Were you told to avoid anything in particular? I found out at my 20 week scan that my placenta was low and covering my cervix. It hadn’t moved by 28 weeks, I’m 30 + 3 now & had a small bleed a few days ago.

PSA 0.5, 6 yrs after prostatectomy
Hi all, My father's PSA has risen to 0.5 today. He had the prostate removal 6.5 yrs back in 2017. His gleason score was 8, PSA around 20 at the time of surgery. However post surgery, it was indicated that seminal vesicles were clean and no occurence in lymph nodes so it was indeed a localized tumor
