Blood result! Anyone know how to read them? Help!!!
Hey everyone, I have had blood test results back and it appears that they have just given me a standard one as opposed to one to test thyroid so specifically. I am currently away for six weeks so my mum collected them for me and I am having trouble understanding them. The doctor said I will need to

ANOTHER endoscopy :-(
So Thursday is looming when I go back in for another endoscopy, fingers crossed for no banding, I haven't experienced any bleeding for a while so I don't see why they should.... I have to say though, its a tough call between endoscopies and bone marrow biopsies as to which is the worst...I wouldn't with

Fistula - what are you're experiences?
I am a 68 year old female with kidney function now at 13-14 and my doctor has said that now is the time to take me off the suspended transplant list and also put me forward for a fistula. I am quite concerned about how a fistula will look and affect me. Can anyone tell me their experience of this

So I've been away from this site for a while but graduated c25k in the autumn after starting the programme late summer. Since then I have taken to the streets (had done training on a treadmill) and finally ran a 5k distance the week before Christmas. It wasn't fast - my time was 52mins. - my route is

Cholesterol 8
I was very tired and asked my doctor for a blood test. It came back with a cholesterol 8 reading. My mum had a stroke and my father had phlebitis and heart issues do my doctor said it could be genetic. I eat healthy but because of lack of time did not exercise regularly for the last 12 months. I took

Hello (again) ....not sure what to do next
Morning everyone Been on here before 🙄 raving about the low carb high fat diet. Works a treat for me for a short term fix but the food is just too restrictive and repetitive ( for me anyway as not too creative and don't have a lot of spare time). Now need to continue my weight loss journey but no

Positive DNA results
Hi Sorry to be a pain but had anyone gone from having a positive dsDna result to a negative one, as that's what has happened and I don't understand it, is it good or bad. Every time I go and see my consultants I'm sure they think I make things up, but nothing seems to be working. I had the rhemaximid

Live It Up and Die Happy II
The Medical profession loves to attack Ty Bollinger as a "bad guy" but lets take a closer look at the guys in white the "good guys". When Lupron was approved by the FDA as a replacement for DES the URO's were bribed to put all their PCa cases on Lupron. If you go back and look at the statistics you will

Familial Hypercholesterolemia? - Maybe, but probably not
I was told I had familial hypercholesterolemia - a genetic pre-disposition to excess production of cholesterol. I had bypass surgery in March 2015 and was given a cocktail of pills post-surgery, including 40 mg of Crestor. After limited success by eliminating red meat and reducing simple carbohydrates

BIG reduction in cholesterol over 3 months
I have had extremely high cholesterol for over 30 years. My total cholesterol number has been as high as 10.5 mmol/l and averaged around 8.7 mmol/l for the past 10 years. Although symptomless, I recently had a cardio score done and found that I now have a highish level of calcification in my heart arteries

High Cholesterol
I'm a participant in the Whitehall Stress and Health study and recent tests as part of that have revealed high LDL (ie "bad") cholesterol - 4mmol/l as opposed to the recommended mount of less than 3mmol/l. I'm 4 years post op and otherwise doing ok. Has anybody else found high cholesterol and what

With love and gratitude
HI, DI has been a lifeline for me through the past 6 months when my daughter Aisha 37, was diagnosed with both breast cancer and D2. We have followed the LCHF diet with excellent results: her weight has gone down from 130 kgs. to 103 kgs. We will be doing a HB1AC test in 2 days time to see how much it

Hi everyone. I'm not new here and a few of you know me from answering posts and just chatting, now I'm asking for help and I know I'll get my answer soon, everyone here is always so willing and ready to help. I'm having some minor outpatient surgery and the doctor said he will only use local anesthesia

The right diet for T2 Diabetes with elevated blood cholesterol
I have lived with T2 for five years (genetic caused) which I usually control the conditions with low carb diet with good fat ( extra virgin olive oil, a bit of coconut oil) and full cream diary products. I also eat proteins from both animals and plants especially my favorite dhal. I excercise most days
