Ultrasound Therapy for Inflammation
Wondering if anyone has had ultrasound therapy for tendinitis or muscle strain. Was at physical therapy for achilles tendinitis. Was told could try ultrasound for healing but, contraindicated in people with cancer. Tech said, she would recheck this. Wondering if anyone has experienced anything like

High cholesterol
Hi all, I am due to receive cholesterol results over the phone tomorrow and I would like to be prepared. I am a 37 year old female and I know that the familial high cholesterol is in my family, however, I had a cholesterol test about 10 years ago ‘prior to diagnosis’ and it was a healthy 3. However

Cholesterol over range despite weight loss and dieting - what’s going on?
Hi everyone, I was wondering if I could get some advice on my recent Medichecks results. I got the well woman check to check a few things I was concerned about monitoring including my cholesterol. My previous check last year showed my cholesterol was high but still in normal range but now my results

Food question
I know a healthy diet is good for keeping the bp and heart healthy and being new to high bp, I was wondering about yogurt as I eat it daily with fresh fruit and granola. I have Greek yogurt generally but is there a better option? I get lower the fat the better but then they are generally higher in sugar

T and PSA basically undetectable. Is adding testosterone or having a colonoscopy 3 years post treatment a good or bad idea for the elderly?
Cancer in late 2019 was G9 with no indication of escaping the capsule. PSA was <10. Treatment initially casodex followed by one session high dose brachy, 25 sessions IMRT and 18 months Lupron. Currently PSA undetectable and T still <2.5. Pushing through a regular exercise routine but have no energy

Good News-But Do I Belong Here?
Hello all. I comment/reply sometimes (usually about exercise), but create posts much less often. It's been awhile though, and something has come up that prompts this one, Quick recap: RP in June '19 and a subsequent clinical trial beginning Sept '19 due to positive lymph node and seminal vesicle invasion

NEXT STEP IMRT
Just wanted to give an update on my treatment. Everything seems to be tracking along the same lines as we have discussed. Wanted to thank Tall Allen for the information provided. It has really helped me in talking with my Cancer Team. Knowing what to expect and being able to actually discuss my treatment

When to consider chemo?
I’ve just started my journey fighting advanced PCa and am hoping for some advice from you guys who have lots of knowledge and experience. After a PSA result of 13.0, I had an MRI of the pelvic area and was diagnosed with Stage 4 advanced PCa in May 2022. Gleason 8, LN involvement and a quite large (

viagra
I’m taking Felodipine for slightly raised BP and it’s working well . Unfortunately it’s causing some mild ED. I’ve tried other BP meds but can’t tolerate them. I had an ablation for AF nearly 12 months ago which has been successful. The urologist is suggesting viagra or similar. I’m worried it

Dosing with Potassium Chloride
Hello, The potassium/sodium balance is identified as an important driver of high blood pressure. This is what I believe underlies recommendations to consume fresh fruit and veg to help high bp. The only issue is that with busy lives etc it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the 5/day recommendation

Does IMRT cause incontinence?
My doctor seems to think that a course of 9 weeks of IMRT on my Lymph node area and prostate to treat prostate cancer is not likely to cause incontinence for me. I'm 60 and I'm not sure he is right. When I think of causing incontinence I am concerned also in the long run. If in 10 years I would have

I'm 84 and diagnosed with PC 5 months ago. I was told I had High Risk Localized PC with a Gleason score of 8.
I was put on Firmagon immediately and took 45 radiation IMRT sessions, which I just finished. Although the pet and bone scans showed no signs of spread outside the prostate, I am also taking 500mg of Zytiga with 5mg of Prednisone as a precaution, . I also take .4 mg Flomax (I no longer have fainting

Cholesterol and hypothyroidism
I was wondering if there is any relationship between these, had mine checked they aren’t like really bad but my HDL is a bit low and my total cholesterol is a bit high. I don’t know, could be diet related also.

Thoughts on Treatment to Date
I was diagnosed in October 2021, Gleason 8 in 4 cores of 13 of which were 15%-75% involved. PSA at diagnosis was 4.3. Initial biopsy read by Wellstar (GA) and re-read by Dr Epstein at JH. JH detected cribriform morphology and PNI. Based on the biopsy readings, I was borderline cT2 or T3a. Decifer

UCSF PSMA PET Update Location of Recurrence Low PSA
An update on PSMA PET with good information on how it works and why its so accurate when compared to other imaging modalities. Also, patients with low PSA of 2.0 and below can be scanned. For this group 30% of tumors would have been missed had they received RT (IMRT) with only normal imaging (bone,

JUST FINISHED IMRT , WHAT NEXT?
Hi just want to say I finished my IMRT . I did 26 treatments along with Bicaltulamide 50mg and a Decapeptyl 6 month shot. Apart from excercise and getting a blood analysis a few months down the line I was wondering if there is anything I could do perhapslike an occasional fast , or any suggestions
