Tracheostomy
My husband is still sedated and on the
tracheostomy
. His oxygen level is still 35% and he requires the ventilator. It has been 5 weeks now since he is in icu and no progress and I am worried.

Covid19 now the after effect
They believe that he won’t ever get off the ventilator because his lungs are so scarred so they want to do the
tracheostomy
but we should know he probably won’t ever get off and most likely be sent to a long term facility were we can’t see him if he survives this.

What should I do?
I have a stoma from what was thought to be a permanent
tracheostomy
which I decanulated after 7 years. Does this increase my chance for infection what can I do to prevent that

Dad's Tracheostomy was leaking he now back under sedation
having video called him this after he was aware and awake but very uncomfortable and was trying to explain something. The doc called later to say they had to put him back to sleep and take the trach out and go back on ventilator as it was leaking and will investigate and try to redo it in 2 days time

No thyroid
My thyroid was removed in 2018 not due to cancer but as a side effect of complications following an operation to remove a benign frontal lobe brain tumour and removal of
tracheostomy
. Both ops seem to result in personality changes, depression and impulsivity. Has anyone else heard this

mom has been in the ICU for 6 weeks...doctors are discouraging.
Hello, my mom, who is 51, was admitted to the hospital on May 8 for severe edema and joint pains. After several blood tests and a kidney biopsy, she was diagnosed with Class 4 Lupus Nephritis. The lupus was causing her kidneys to fail (hence the edema). About a week after being at the hospital, my family
