Newly diagnosed
Hi all, diagnosed 4th May after episode of very rapid heart beats that wouldn't stop. Went to A & E where the diagnosis of AF was made. Stayed in for 5 days while they did CT scan of lungs and ultra sound of leg. Reason for that was that I had no symptom at all until a partial knee replacement 2nd March

thromboelastogram
Has anyone ever heard anything about a test called a "thromboelastogram"? I had unrelated knee surgery the other day. Discussed my PV with the anesthesiologist & he was surprised to hear I never had this test. He said it looks at the function of the platelets. I've never heard anyone mention this

chronic hiccups after knee surgery
Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong forum but was hoping for advice or some signposting. My father had double knee surgery a few years ago. After the operation he developed sever hiccups which drained him to the point of exhaustion and he kept vomiting. These then stopped after he was given some medication

Post Knee Replacement Advice
I had a full knee replacement on 28/4/23, so just over a week post op. Have to say most painful thing EVER! Really struggled to get on top of pain relief and have ended up in local a&e due to how ill I was feeling, changed meds for last couple of days but feel a little better at this stage. Struggled

I have questions about Tamoxifen, aka Hormonal Therapy
Hello all, & blessed wishes during the Holiday Season. 🎄 I must admit I haven't been on here for a while, but I hope someone can give me some answers. I was diagnosed with Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer stage 4 in 2021. I have had 6 rounds of Chemo, & a total hysterectomy. I've been doing Avastin since

infections caused by endo
Hi everyone, sorry this is long, I hope you are all having a ‘low pain’ day. I was just wondering, out of curiosity, if anyone else has suffered from abdominal infections caused by endo. I am just getting over my third this year and have trouble identifying when the pain is infection as I’m sure you

Why do i have a Resuscitation status section on my discharge letter from hospital?
I had knee surgery last week. Discharge letter had a section entitled Resuscitation Status on it (not ordered) which has never been in previous letters. On previous hospital visits prior to diagnosis of vasospastic angina this did not appear on any of my letters. Has anyone else seen this on their hospital

Can’t decide
I have significant stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis for which I’ve had multiple surgeries including two excision and removal of left ovary and both tubes. Since my last excision I’ve been in pain every day which is now much worse as the disease returns within months of surgery even when excised

Knee massager with red light
Has anyone with osteoarthritis in knees try a personal knee massager with red light instead of knee surgery? If so did it work?

help with blood test results
Hi, I have just had the results of my blood test and they are all within the normal range which is obviously great news but not so great as to knowing why I’m feeling so tired, aching, gut issues and cramping, brain fog. Could any of you lovely people just take a look and see why I maybe feeling like

Surprise at GP
had an appt this morning about gut/urgency issues and finally got round to asking what my very first TSH reading was, in August 2021, 3 months post hip replacement surgery. My understanding was that I was borderline - I didn’t even know what that was! I was retested six weeks later and a bit higher,
