Have others had problems with endometriosis returning as soon as prostap wears off?
Since prostap wore off terrible hot flushes and nightly endometriosis pain. It’s completely ruining my sleep finding it hard to cope with the pain. I’m under Gynacology and due a hysterectomy, however due to the covid situation I feel very forgotten about. I’ve spoken with my GP to get a letter written

Does this sound ok?
My adult daughter was recently in hospital with a prolapsed disc and had a blood test which showed Hb of 10. Her GP did an iron profile and B12 as her uncle and grandfather had PA. B12 was 169 and ferritin 13 and HCT MCV and transferrin results abnormal. He is starting her on loading B12 injections

Hashimoto's and not feeling better
Hi there! I'm wondering if it is possible to just never feel better (lethargic, mentally slow, unable to concentrate/difficulty reading, fatigued, short of breath, etc) when having hashimoto's? Like do some people just feel bad for their entire life despite doing all the right things? I know other people

Hysterectomy for Adenomyosis and endometriosis
Hi all, I have been advised now that I have no other option apart from having a hysterectomy. I have have had several procedures and opps since being diagnosed with endometriosis back in 2017. Ongoing long battle with bad symptoms associated with it all. I have adenomyosis and signs of endometriosis

Should I have my ovaries removed?
Hi, anyone out there had subtotal hysterectomy and then had ovaries removed at a later date? Are you pain free now? How has having a surgical menopause effected you? I am on a waiting list to have ovaries removed but I’m really unsure if it’s what I want. Thank you Bunnyrunning xxx

Is it possible to be deficient in nutrients, even if nutrient levels in your blood are optimal?
Just like thyroid hormones in the blood can be at optimal levels but may not be reaching the cells or may not be absorbed properly by the cells, I wonder if something similar could happen with vitamins and minerals. Vit. D3 65 (25 - 80) Vit. B12 1057 (180 - 914) Folate >20 (4.0 - 19.9) Ferritin 150 (

After effects of Prostap, the menopause or codeine withdrawal? 🤦🏼♀️
Has anyone experienced the menopause straight after a
total
hysterectomy
? I know there’s an increased risk that it’ll happen in the next 5 years but it didn’t have to be immediately as I kept my ovaries. So confused. Thanks, Vicky

MRI scan - how much did it influence your surgery decision?
In my first appointment, the consultant (BSGE approved endo centre) talked about surgery options ranging from clearance with
total
hysterectomy
and endo removal to simple restoration of pelvic anatomy.

Has anyone suffered with pain after hysterectomy and ovaries removed?
I had a
total
hysterectomy
in July 2018, left ovaries in due to age. After 3 months the pain was back, so in November 2019 had returned endo removed plus both ovaries. Given Tibolone for menopause and only suffered with hot flushes.

Interdependance of iron load and thyroid function
The interrelationship between iron load and thyroid function is pretty well accepted, but I post here a paper showing the effect in children (can extrapolate safely to adults I think). It underlines the need for good iron loading to help rule out or confirm hypothyroidism.

Hysterectomy & ovary removal - what do you wish you'd known first?
Hi, Thinking about surgery, the consultant explained to me that my options might range from removing the endo lesions and restoring of anatomy position, to
total
hysterectomy
with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of the uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries).

How do I know what stage of endo I had when I wasn’t told?
Hi, I’ve found it really interesting reading about the experiences of others on here. One thing I notice about women who have been diagnosed more recently is that they seem to be told what stage their endo is. I was diagnosed 12 years ago after years of pain and bowel problems. I assume my experience

Just now discovering things I really never wanted to know.
Hello, I just joined to see what everyone is talking about. I have been diagnosed with serous cell uterine Stage III by one doc and Stage IV by another doc. I've had 6 rounds of chemotherapy of paclitaxal and carboplatin. In addition I am HER2+. So I received transtuzamab along with chemo. Had surgery

On going Pain after knee op
I had an op for total knee replacement last year, but still get a strange pain in the leg it feels like a bone moving under the knee , cracks and sends a pain through the leg. A bit like when you hit the funny bone in your arm but slightly more severe. Any ideas on what to do ?, other than persist

Hello. I had my dreaded mirena coil removed yesterday, bit of a procedure as the strings were inside uterus etc but pleased it is out. I’ve been advised I will always need to take something for stage 4 endo and adeno as I’m only allowed one more surgery which is hysterectomy and likely colostomy bag.
