Iron deficiency anemia and increased A1C levels
Have those of you who receive phlebotomy for PV experienced elevated A1C levels? I get phlebotomies ever couple of weeks, which as expected, has caused me to be iron deficient and a bit anemic (HGB 11.1, Ferritin <3 ng/mL, Iron 29, Transferrin 6%, UIBC 434, and IBC 463). I am also on 2 aspirin/

I simply don't know how to give up.
On Monday December the 19th I go in the hospital for right knee replacement. Your prayers and good thoughts will be deeply appreciated. Some say I'm an idiot for doing this, especially most of my family due to my MS. But, I simply don't know how to give up. My knee is getting so bad that I think if

Adrenal saliva test & DHEA
So at my last GP appt to review all my results, 21 months of blood tests* since the multinodular goitre was discovered in May 2021, the GP said I do not have primary thyroid and I need to let it go, he believes my symptoms are carers burnout. I raised secondary/central thyroid and we seemed to reach

Swelling After Hip Replacement
Hi, My husband had a 2nd hip replacement 2 weeks ago. His leg is extremely swollen , is very uncomfortable and not improving. It is not thrombosis as that was checked a few days ago when the physiotherapist registered concern. He is walking well and exercised religiously before and after the operation

New Here — Most Recent Arrhythmia
Hi, all — I initially posted this to the Afib Forum but just found this group, which seems more appropriate. I was experiencing episodes of tachycardia sometimes lasting up to a half hour or so. Being a non-cardiologist, my first thought was Afib and, indeed, that’s what my Apple Watch said. I ended

Dofitilide without Afib??

Advice on Aortic Regurgitation
Hi, I need help with coping with severe fatigue which started Sunday 11th December. To give some more context, it started Friday 9th. I woke up dizzy. Other than that, I had energy and felt fine. I went to the hospital and they suspected BPPV. Bloods were all okay. The dizziness is better but fatigue

A (failed?) attempt to stop thyroid medicines.
Hi, everyone. Sorry for the long post... I've been on thyroid hormone replacement since almost 4 years. I started euthyrox on the advice of my gp when my TSH was 2.89 (0.27-4.20). My antibodies were also slightly elevated (TPO: 112 [0-34]) and they remain on this range until today. Back then I was

Results please advice needed
Overall comment 13/02/2023 Your thryoid function results show an unusual pattern. There may be several reasons for this, such as taking thyroid medication or treatment or the sample was taken when you were unwell. If the result is unexpected, we recommend you discuss these results with your GP. TRIODOTHYRONINE

Horrific night sweats.
I know some of you knowledgeable people will be able to give me some advice about how to help with the horrific night sweats I am having. This is fairly longstanding (17years), since I was about 50, now 67 but recently I have suffered long bouts of them. Currently, have had them for 47 nights in a row

Latest Update to Here We Go Again
Underwent the "simple mastectomy" on Nov 1 on the right side. This is my third breast cancer surgery and sixth primary cancer overall. I was so discouraged to have cancer again and did not want the surgery, but it was the only rational option. Already have had so much radiation to the chest (lung cancer

Blood tests and supplement advice please if you have a minute.
Hello everyone, I posted this a little while back but no comments so trying again, I know everyone is busy but I find help here invaluable. I am hoping I could get some advice on recent results. In late October I changed from 100-125mcg dose due to aches and sluggishness. Prior to this I had received

What do I do now?
Hi About 3 years ago, when Covid started and it was difficult/impossible to see a GP, I started taking B12 supplements 3-4 times weekly. I was experiencing many symptoms - fatigue and tingling and breathlessness amongst them. Whilst not wanting to diagnose myself, I felt I had little choice given
