Betcha your doubling rate is lower than mine :-)
After recent posting on spleen laceration and a weekend ER visit, I spent most of today in scheduling a blizzard of follow-on appointments. First one was with my day-to-day oncology lead. His pet vampires took 10 vials of blood this time (to rerun FISH and flow cytometry etc.) So then I get a call

PMR Returns
I had PMR 13 years ago, which was diagnosed by my Doctor as I walked towards him, (no blood tests or path involved at all). He started me on 60mg Prednisolone and the pain stopped within 24 hours, steroids were gradually reduced over the next year as well as bloods and bone marrow tests. Been free until

Prednisolone Dependant
Hi Guys, I joined this community because we have a couple of issues going off here. My Wife has had operations for Chrohns . This has left her with a vitamin B12 deficiency, extreme tiredness etc. She was previously prescibed monthly B12 Intramuscular injections. Our GP has changed this to bi-monthly

30mg to zero in five days??
Not about PMR per se. Friend has a severe chest infection and as part of his medication has been prescribed 30 mg of steroids for five days, then zero. I am just wondering how this is possible given all the advice about tapering?

PMR or Myofascial?
I’ve been treated for PMR since November 2020 and am now off steroids but feeling really quite unwell. I’ve now been told I have myo fascial, not PMR. I am unsure what to do next.

Reply from Rheumy!!
I recently agreed with my GP that he could seek advice from a Rheumy to try to help with my Polymyalgia. This is what I have just read was the reply sent back to my GP. " I fully agree with Dr **** (this was my previous Rheumy who was extremely rigid in following the guidelines, which didn't work for

The power of love
My first post! I was first diagnosed last year February with stage 3B. Not fun. But after 30 radiation treatments and 8 chemo sessions it had shrunk to the point where the docs were satisfied that it was probably dead and we could proceed into an "scan, wait and see " mode. I tolerated chemo and

End of Pred Treatment Programme
Hello- I hope to end my Pred Treatment Programme on 1st December. I'm a bit scared but also hopeful that I will not have another flare. Question: how long does it take for the steroids to go out of your system/ body? Thanks in advance.

Recovery from PMR
Hello everyone. Two issues to share. I developed pmr 24 years ago when I was 50 . I never took steroids but took ibuprofen for the pain and to get me through the working day. After two years the condition burnt out and I recovered completely. Fast forward to Christmas Eve 2021 when I ended up in Emergency

Long term use of steroids
Had PMR for 10+ years and taking Prednisone in various amounts over those years. Have tried several times to wean myself off but lowest dosage I've been able to cope with is 6mg. I take lansoprazole twice a day.I have now been diagnosed with gastritis following a long spell of digestive issues. Have

Covid booster and aching joints
I had my Covid booster Number 6 (I am on Imraldi and steroids for my RA) about 3-4 weeks ago and ever since have been feeling tired and my whole body aches, just wondering if anyone else has suffered symptoms after the jabs. I am reluctant to have any more if I am going to feel like this.

ADVICE PLEASE
I am due to see my Rheumatologist soon and I just know that she will want me to try another tablet to enable me to reduce my prednisolone. I am currently on 12mg daily. When I tried Methotrexate it made me so ill that I stopped it but now I think they will say to try a different one. What do you all

New diagnosis
I am female and 42 years old. I was diagnosed with RA back in November. I had a steroid injection, it helped, but at a review after 3 weeks it was decided I needed methotrexate. Consultant gave me 6 weeks of Prednisolone to tide me over until the MTX kicks in. I take one naproxen a day too. I am so much
