Zanubrutinib journey
I lurk on this site and gather information from time to time ... thought it was time to contribute! I started Zanubrutinib/BGB3111 in Jul 2016. Good response with lymphocytes down from 103 to less than 4 after 13 months. My primary CLL symptom prior to treatment with Zanubrutinib was low platelets

Bronchiectasis diagnosis.....really struggling :(
I was diagnosed with Bronch March 22 with a CT scan. I am 71 and 3 years ago I was working....walked my dog twice a day and led a very active life. I am really struggling to accept that my life now is very limited. I paid to see a Dr last August who specialises in helping people get the right treatment

Alternative to Prednisone
Pain in my shoulder was originally diagnosed as rotator cuff, but after some weeks when pain spread to other shoulder, hips and buttocks, a friend who is a nurse suggested I get tested for PMG. After blood tests it was confirmed and I am now on Prednisone, 4 tabs a day. Pain has gone but feel spaced,

Colonoscopy side effects
I had a colonoscopy earlier this week . I learned on friday that it showed i had collagenous colitis. i will be prescribed steroids. Since the colonoscopy i have developed horrific lower back pain which conventional pain killers don’t help. Can’t take anti inflammatory drugs as on blood thinners.

Has anyone been diagnosed for PMR under 50 that didn't have inflammatory markers in their bloods?
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by Rheumatology late last September after the usual tick boxes had been ticked It started with waking one night with numbness in my fingers three years ago and progressed to pain and stiffness lasting hours on waking, poor sleep, having to dig my heel in to the mattress

Steroid tapering
Has anyone else had severe side effects when reducing their steroid dose? I was on 5mg prednisolone a day for at least seven months and reduced to 4mg a week ago. Feeling very unwell especially overnight which is the furthest point in any 24 hours from taking the steroids. I realise there will be a delay

Temperature and inflammation
I developed PMR around 18 months ago, and have been on prednisolone for 14 months. Like others, I would like to taper down and get off the steroids as soon as physically possible, which has resulted in some undershoots and having to bob back up to higher doses. During that time, I had several blood

Anybody complained about GP?
Tried to get a rescue pack of steroids - rang 111 and had it sent through to my pharmacy.Told I couldn't have them without an appointment which is next week - this is despite me having a steroid emergency card and my GP having a copy of my asthma action plan. I have eosiniphilic asthma and I am currently

Versus arthritis leaflet on steroids and PMR
I picked up a leaflet/booklet from Versus Arthritis about Steroid tablets in a hospital the other day and I think it would be useful particularly to those new to PMR/taking steroids. An updated new version is available free to download or you can order a free paper copy from them via their website.

Week 5 completed…and all is right with the World.
Well, what a glorious week …Spring like. Sun shining, birds singing their Spring songs and the very first Spring flowers popping their heads above frosted soil. These are what my Grandad called ‘borrowed days’ for as sure as eggs we will pay them back, with interest, before the real Spring arrives

MS Hug
I don't know if this is a MS Hug or not but I feel like I have a band around my ribs that is squeezing me. I have hurt all the way through from my back to my chest. I also have tenderness in my abdomen. I have just finished a round of steroids because of a flare caused by COVID and a secondary infection

Covid action plan, antivirals, steroids etc
Hi all -- I apologize for the frequent posts recently. May I ask whether your GP/Consultant gave you a covid action plan, or if this is available online? I.e. what to do in different scenarios, when (and whom) to ask for antivirals, when to start taking high steroids etc? Several of my colleagues
