Skin reaction to bone growth stimulator electrode pads
I got a weepy itchy rash from the electode pads. I was prescribed steroid cream that only helped a tad. I ended up getting weird rashes and itching on random areas of my body and am now on a oral steroid that is working very well. Just curious if anyone has had this happen. Surgeon said to stop wearing

Facial hair growth with steroids?
I have a hairy face but now I seem to have a lot of new black hair on my face, including practically on my eyelids. Is it steroids? Anybody else experienced this? Thx.

What to expect on 3mg/day pred, and monthly tapering...
I've been on various doses of Pred since Sept 2021, and diagnosed with PMR Mar22. I'm currently tapering Pred by 1mg/month (at 3mg and two weeks in). My consultant wants me off the steroids (and Sulfadiazine). January cortisol 9am test was 600 (consultant said "satisfactory") As I "ween" I'm getting

Have had Covid just over a week. Test showing now just VERY feint line. Doubled my dose Pred for a week. Yesterday dropped back for first time and this morning both upper arms very sore . As this has occurred so soon does it sound like steroids withdrawal?

Biologics
Hi everyone I phoned the nurse help line before Easter and found they are going to put me on the biologic Etanercept and I was told I’d get a telephone appointment and that it would be Sciensus delivering the injections. My blood tests have all come back, no sign of TB, but positive for Zoster which

Permanent Lung Scarring from Pneumonia
Does anyone on here have experience of permanent lung scarring (in this case caused by flu/bacterial pneumonia)? How long did it take for the scarring to develop or the extent to become known - was it months or weeks from onset of pneumonia? Some of you may have seen my other post about my dad currently

Low dose of Pred long term for GCA
Just wondered if anyone with GCA has stayed on low dose prednisilone long term as they couldn't tolerate any of the drugs like MTX and Leflunomide and what dose was used please. Also whether it was possible to get off steroids eventually. Thanks

Had a conversation with a doctor this morning. He has said he thinks it's a viral infection so is giving me 5 days of steroids and said if they don't clear the problem to get back in touch. Thanks Everyone for your Advice and support. Brian

Can polymyalgia be misdiagnosed for fibromyalgia and vice versa?
My mother apparently had both polymyalgia and fibromyalgia. I hope this isn't a silly question but I do wonder if either of them can be misdiagnosed particularly where blood work isn't elevated. I can't remember what treatment Mum was on for fibromyalgia but I do know she was on steroids for polymyalgia

Pneumonia Recovery
Hi. My dad is currently in ICU with pneumonia (caused by triple whammy of flu, Strep A and staph) - been there 6 weeks, 4 of them on a ventilator/trachy. Was previously fit and healthy - no underlying conditions or hospital admissions so the severity was a total shock for us all. He was due to move
