Preserflo Microshunt and raised eye pressure
I had Preserflo Microshunt operation on left eye in March, the reason was I’d previously had laser treatment, and numerous eye drops over the past 5 years, however I found these were ineffective and also I was having many problems like sore, red itchy eyes. Therefore the Microshunt was a great saviour

Newly diagnosed GPA without renal involvement. Sorry it’s long.
In March I went to a new rheumatologist at a world famous teaching hospital. He is co-director of the vasculitis program and quite expert. It took persistence to get an appointment. My previous rheumatologist diagnosed me with Polymyalgia Rheumatica in 2016. She ordered an ANCA blood test in 2017 because

Herpes Zoster vaccination OK for me?
Hello. I'm about to start Tocilizumab injections for GCA. I've been on high doses of steroids since February (60mg). Now down to 17.5 mg. I've been recommended by the health board to have the Herpes Zoster vaccination prior to starting the biologic jabs. I recall that Zostavax , because it is a live

Advice before telephone appointment
Hello everyone, I'd appreciate some thoughts on my present situation before I speak to my Medical Centre - no not a real live Dr, that dream happened BC (before Covid) - it will be a Physician's Assistant, who I have not spoken to before, apparently. The appointment is next Tuesday at 0930 hrs. I

Red marks on face
Does anyone use Elocon steroid cream, I used it on my red lupus marks a few years ago and they cleared up. I now have a couple of red marks on face, quite small, and have started using Elocon on them as they just won’t disappear. Some days they look really faded and other days look red again. I’m going

I just expect it now. Would love some guidance on any next steps so I've set out a brief overview of my

My ablation was 4/20. Migraines everyday (with aura) for about 20 days following surgery then every other day. Now, getting aura's and some numbness off and on during the day. Stopped steroids but taking Nurtec as needed. Some days, significant headache after the migraines goes away. Hoping this

I have severe asthma which bag at 40 yr old I’m now 62. I have lots of medications tablets and inhalers etc I’m currently awaiting further tests to check copd and possible suitability for biologics. I would appreciate your thoughts on what is happening to me right now and the best way to get help or do I just plough through.
Back story of LVV and having had a second PET CT at the end of Nov 2022 I have been told I no longer have LVV, albeit I had gone as high as 10mg plus prior to the scan after losing the funding for TCZ. I found my best place was 8mg, I did really well on 8mg but knew that I would be expected to reduce

scared mum unborn baby 34 weeks with kidney and bladder problems and no amniotic fluid.
my unborn baby has so many problems with kidneys bladder and urethras. He has absent amniotic fluid. I’ve had steroids to help with his lungs. They say prognosis is not a good outcome. Dialysis, transplants etc. First thing will be to get him to breathe. Nothing was found on growth scan 4 weeks before

hi. I’m suffering from really bad sciatica. The orthopaedic surgeon wants to give me a branch block steroid injection (whatever that is) but only if I can come off aspirin (75mg) for a few days. This is because he’s afraid I might bleed into the sciatic nerve, which could be disastrous. I’m seeing my

waiting for the result of a 24 urine test as possible hypercalcaemia
I am waiting for the result of a 24 hour urine test. I have previously had above the normal range calcium tests. This has been going on for about a year. I’m guessing that the culprit is lithium but I’m wondering whether steroids can cause this ?
