My only PGTA embryo has failed to implant
Hi all It's been such a deflating week. We transferred our only PGTA tested embryo last week and it has failed to implant. We honestly worked so hard to maximise our chances and have spent so much money. It's even more frustrating because of the time we spent which now feels totally wasted. We spent

Declined lupus Centre help
Hi all, hope you're all doing as well as you can be. Just thought I'd give you an update on something that went from being so hopeful to now being left to struggle once again. If you know my previous posts just before Christmas I'd had a steroid injection and was waiting to see professor D'cruz in London

How long can a asthma episode last?
My daughter has had asthma symptoms for 14 days. Needing inhaler every 4 hours. She had 10 days of steroids and 10 days of antibiotics for a chest infection. As you can imagine she is shacking. We have been to the doctors twice, oxygen level been good at 97. I mentioned if they just gave her a NEB the

3rd transfer (2nd FET) and last embryo!! Steroids and clexane!! Success stories please?
hi this is my last embryo from first cycle of IVF after 2 x failed transfers ( 1 x fresh, 2 x FET) My latest consult was really positive and she has decided to throw everything at this. I will be on steroids, clexane, progesterone injections and pessaries and obviously estrogen patches for lining.

Stem Cell Transplant update
I am now close to 6 months from my sct. I feel well in myself except for side affects from steroids which I should be off in a week. They make it difficult to sleep, make me hungry and over full of energy . Many of my blood counts are in normal range except for platelets. These keep yo-yoing around

Biologics to treat PMR
I've had PMR since March 2019. Now tapering slowly to 4.5mg. My neighbour is about to start Biologics for a severe auto-immune chest complaint and asked if PMR was treated this way. I said no.....and then Googled it. I found this from the US in Feb 2023: KEVZARA® (SARILUMAB) APPROVED BY FDA AS FIRST

Should I persevere and keep working?
I’m just starting to taper from 10mg prednisolone to 9.5mg using the DSNS method. I’m 71 and until PMR hit I was very fit and active and still working 3 six hour shifts a week in a care home. After a couple of weeks off sick before the steroids kicked in I’ve continued to work but just the last few

Best Vit K2 +Vit D3?
Hi. I've been reading here about vits K2 +D3, and am keen to try it as I don't want to take Alendronic acid. However, there's so many "makes"! I'm in the UK. I know you can't advertise but what should I be looking out for? Mk7 for vit K is the thing, containing natto I see from some posts, but what is

Pmr and heart attack
Hi thereI'm writing for my husband. He had pmr for about 18 months diagnosed after a bout of covid. He did really well with the steroids, they worked to manage the symptoms and he took his last dose in February. Previously he was a fit, healthy and strong person. Pmr definitely took some of his muscle

Breathing problems
Hi, I've got CFS and have been having breathing problems for past 19 days. I had A7 day course of antibiotics, then a gap but last week more antibiotics, steroids and an asthma pump although I don't have asthma. The breathing was definitely improving and I took the last if the meds at 9 this morning

GP appointment and blood tests - will recent steroid injection skew results?
Afternoon everyone, I had a GP appointment yesterday to discuss my symptoms. Went through everything that has happened since the summer. She sent me for blood tests today which included CRP, ESR, Rheumatoid factor and various other tests relating to autoimmune conditions. She insisted I call back for

what next?
I was diagnosed with PMR five years ago and my gp kept me on Prednisolone for two years which resulted in a catalogue of side effects including glaucoma and cataracts. My diagnosis was confirmed as RA shortly after. I have been taking methotrexate successfully since. However my condition has worsened

Tinnitus and hearing loss in one ear - not sure what to do next
Hi, Looking for a bit more information on my own case of tinnitus and hearing loss - and to see if anyone has had any similar experiences. I'm 37 btw - so unlikely to be related to age. Basically this is what's happened below: April 2023 - ear wax blockage in both ears - so used olive oil drops (as

Inhalers.......
Not sure if anyone can help. My 84 year old husband has bronchiestatis and maybe other lung conditions. He also has Acid Reflux and this can result in lung infections if the food gets into his lungs - the specialist told him this. However he has now decided NOT to use the spacer but to squirt the Fortistair

PMR symptoms after steroid injection 12 days ago
Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas .🎄 I posted just before Christmas about awful shoulder and neck pain and that I saw a private doctor who thinks my symptoms are PMR. He gave me a steroid injection. It has helped dampen down the pain. It was excruciating but has since
