Parathyroid identification by autofluorescence – preliminary report on five cases of surgery for primary hyperparathyroidism
[/i] Open Access: https://bmcsurg.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12893-019-0590-9 I wonder if it could be exploited during
thyroidectomy
to help avoid damage to parathyroids?

Advice please, 2 years after Thyroidectomy
since
Thyroidectomy
in May 2021 i have been taking levothyroxine 100mcg. I thought TSH was the important figure but as i have found on this page, T3 and T4 are the important hormone figures. the Doctor would just tell me the blood test result - was fine. and only ever tested TSH.

I had an under active thyroid, been taking 50mg levothyroxine for 1 yr, 3 blood tests since all show perfect levels but I can’t lose weight.
Even though my blood tests show that I’m on the correct dose of Levothyroxine since having a hemi-
thyroidectomy
, I cannot shift the pounds, even though I am eating very few calories every day.

Although I have no pain, nor swallowing or breathing problems, I have been proposed a subtotal
thyroidectomy
immediately, cause a scintigraphy showed that the lower part of my thyroid doesn't absorb enough radioactivity (no cold nodules though) to be treated with it.

Do I risk taking T3 medication?
I had a double
thyroidectomy
15 years ago and I have managed quite well on an optimal dose of 112mcg of Mercury Pharma levothyroxine per day. After the second operation I was told that the crucial test results would now be T3 and T4 instead of T4 and TSH .

liothyronine supply
I have been on liothyronine for 10 years now following a
thyroidectomy
due to Graves’ disease. My local health trust are happy to prescribe this medication for me - but currently are unable to source a supply. Is anyone else in this situation?

Looking for T3 online again
Hi all, I’m having to have the T3/T4 battle with Endo’s again after 13 years on T3 only (post cancer
thyroidectomy
). 3rd time it’s been withdrawn by GP - 4th time I will have to go through the whole, sorry thyroid hormone replacement saga with an Endo.

TSH &T4 levels after total thyroidectomy
I’m 6 years post TT and generally all TSH and T4 tests have been broadly in range and I’ve been feeling quite good. This time(6 months ) things seem different and I wonder if others have the same experience? TSH has reduced below normal levels and T4 are normal but my symptoms are as if TSH is too high

Are thyroid problems hereditary?
I had a subtotal
thyroidectomy
in 1985 at the age of 35 to remove a multinodular goitre. The specialist thought that my previously functioningThyroid would work properly afterwards.

Medichecks Results
I had a total
thyroidectomy
in May 2022 (enlarged goitre). I have no tolerance to temperatures - can be cold and shivery and then also have hot flushes especially after meds. I have put on 10kgs since my op. I feel nauseous all the time. Tired, very sad, food sensitives.

Results on Armour Thyroid - Help
Then in December of 2021 I had a partial
thyroidectomy
due to a precancerous thyroid nodule. After that I was treated by the endocrinologist who diagnosed the nodule. He is against synthetic compounding because he believes it leads to inconsistant delivery of medication.
