Ablation coming up....
Hello and blessings to all, I've had a
thyroidectomy
back in 2011 due to a malignantcy. My wonderful doctor (endo) at Baylor Clinic in Houston, has been watching a small nodule of thyroid tissue that was left in the bed.

Interesting article: mild TSH suppression gives closest to normal thyroid function in levothyroxine monotherapy for this group
Methods
: A total of 133 consecutive euthyroid patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma who underwent a total
thyroidectomy
were prospectively studied.

Is this a T3 conversion issue?
I was overactive for years before
thyroidectomy
and know my symptoms are nothing like my overactive symptoms. I only went up to 200mg levothyroxine last year during a severe depression spell where I was suicidal and wanted antidepressants to get through the day.

Synthroid levels and Urso
I had total
thyroidectomy
in 2010 and my TSH blood work had been same for 5 years. I never had to change Synthroid dosage. and then after 6 months on Urso I've had to increase dosage 3 times. GP says she doesn't find any interaction between Urso and Synthroid. Anyone else experience this?

I have relapsed after coming off B&R and I am seeing my Endo this afternoon :(
I am also against having a
thyroidectomy
, I have no idea how this will affect me in the long run and my fertility chances too, I am 32 years old. Can anyone give me some advice just so I am prepared for my appointment this afternoon? I am taking my Fiance with me so I have some backup. Thanks x

Blood tests following total thyroidectomy
How often should I have blood tests following a total
thyroidectomy
? They have just reduced my levothyroxine 5 weeks ago as my T4 was high and TSH low. I can't just go into the surgery and ask for a test, they won't let me.

Dithyron T3/T4 combination, anyone tried it?
I had a total
thyroidectomy
in 2013. Never really recovered back to full health after that, got pensioned off my job at age 30 and have been rendered "disabled". At my wits end and have been plagued with lots of other autoimmune diseases since

Thyroid nodule - operate or alternatives?
I'm a bit concerned about having a
thyroidectomy
, as I have no idea what it entails after - and how it could affect my health. Does anyone have any experience of thyroid nodules. - Do they grow / need surgery? - Are there alternatives? - What happens after a
thyroidectomy
? Thanks :)

Abnormal nodule. Follicular.
They would like to remove it and possibly remove a partial lobe or a full
thyroidectomy
. I'm wondering what life is like after either or those? I'm told I'll have hyperthyroidism for life. Is that manageable or will I have knock on effects from this?

Not having much luck with Endos, 1 month after surgery was put on 20mcg of Liothyronine and 150 mg levothyroxine as the endo said i was unable to convert T4. about 4 months ago a new endo took me off the T3 and reduced the T4 to 125mg. Hello new to this forum
Following another relapse of the Graves, I had a total
Thyroidectomy
on March 1st. Now take Levothyroxine 125. This seems to be coincided with a return Colitis symptoms. I have no appetite, feel bloated and full without any food. I'm also getting pain under my left ribs and into my side.

My endo called me the other evening and I was really impressed as she knows that I am not keen on rai or a Total

Total thyroidectomy
I have no thyroid, my TSH is low and my T4 high. They have just reduced my levothyroxine, they say I have hyperthyroidism but I don't have any symptoms to suggest that. I feel really well. I'm worried I will land up being hypo and gain weight. As it is I have been struggling to lose weight. Should I

Can't process stress since thyroidectomy
When stressful situations arise in my life (just basic things like having to do extra things out my routine ie extra work etc), mentally I can be OK and rational, but since my
thyroidectomy
, physically it's like I can't process stress. I get insomnia and heart palpitations and feel all jittery.

A new recruit???
I have a 15 year history of thyroid symptoms which culminated in having a near total
thyroidectomy
8 years ago. I take Levothyroxine daily and also I have Vit D deficiency and take co calciferol 800iu. Having read so much about PA I am starting to wonder if I too may be B12 deficient.
