Thyroid Blood Results
On 25th May 2022 I had a full
thyroidectomy
as the enlarged goitre had begun to cause problems. Histology shows nothing sinister - the mass removed was ten times the size of a normal thyroid. I am now on Levothyroxine 100mgs. My question - how long before my body rebalances.

There are some enlightened GPs re T3!
I was concerned as I had wasted 3 years of my life being told by another GP that my thyroid levels were fine (
thyroidectomy
10 years previously) and that I was depressed. Found my results on Patients Portal and it said TSH Abnormal see doctor. So I feared that they would try to reduce my T3.

Are my doctor and Endo correct that my TSH being suppressed is not good and I should lower my levothyroxine!!
I had a total
thyroidectomy
20 years ago, following a year of trying to get my thyroid balanced, following a mistake of the NHS where I'd gone into A&E for something else, when they noticed my groitre,, and took blood test suspecting Graves for overactive thyroid.

Advice on recent blood test
I had a partial
thyroidectomy
back in the mid 1990s (currently 59) for Graves disease and was absolutely fine on T4 only until about 5 years ago (suspect menopause) when everything went pear shaped. In 2019, a scan showed there was no thyroid tissue - presume the antibodies finished it off?

Light brown pigmentation under jawline only, hypothyroidism issue or something else?
I have had this light brown pigmentation under just my jawline that I developed after having a
thyroidectomy
in 2016. I had a hysterectomy 17 years earlier and did not have this light brown pigmentation could this be from the
thyroidectomy
? Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Total Thyroidectomy advice/questions
My main questions would be: How easy is it to regulate thyroid levels after a
thyroidectomy
? Is it worth not removing it and seeing how it progresses? Do you actually never feel the same after it? What helped anyone with recovery? Any other helpful advice? Thank you for reading and your time!

Insomnia
I had a complete
thyroidectomy
due to cancer in 2016. All has been going well. Battled through to get medication at good level, and regularly checked. Am able to exercise and lead a normal life. Over the last year or so I’ve been struggling with insomnia.

Struggling post thyroidectomy - is is possible for your body to reject thyroid medication?
Hello everyone, This will be a somewhat lengthy post, so I apologize in advance, I am just desperately in search of anyone who may have/had similar struggles. I had my thyroid removed May 2021 due to papillary thyroid cancer. I was 32 at the time and overall pretty healthy. My TSH was always normal

Five year check up after thyroidectomy
Hi, what’s the usual timespan between check ups after having thyroid removed ( and lymph nodes) due to papillary cancer? It’s coming up to 5 years this year. What will it entail if so?

Thyroid levels and heart failure
I had a
thyroidectomy
20 years ago and have taken Erfa thyroid and T3 for 19 years. My T4 and T 3 levels are within range but TSH is very low and always has been. It was only 4.5 when I had my
thyroidectomy
with a shrunken very diseased thyroid gland.

FT3 may be better than FT4 in setting therapy levels.
The aim of the present study was to elucidate whether free thyroxine (FT4) or free triiodothyronine (FT3) indicates better for adjusting the dose in athyreotic patients on LT4 monotherapy after total
thyroidectomy

Help understanding post Thyroidectomy numbers
Hi, Almost a month out of
thyroidectomy
. Do not have pathology back - both surgeon and endocrinologist are perplexed and frustrated, don't know if it is a staffing issue due to Covid or if I should be concerned by that. But I will hear tomorrow if it is now in (Endocrinologist).
