Total thyroidectomy - anyone have a positive story ?
Hey everyone - I’m very nervous about having a total thyroidectomy in mid February. I have seen so many horror stories. Do any of you have an experience that didn’t turn sour ? Some have said they have levithyroxine issues … I’m not sure if this is the right decision but my heart rhythm is being seriously

Thyroid research project
I wrote to complain about the thyroid research being carried out in Newcastle and there have been a little flurry of emails with me getting nowhere. Here is what has been written. The article he refers to can be found in THYROID Volume 31, Number 5, 2021 Clinical Outcomes After Discontinuation of Thyroid

'Routine' appointment to discuss thyroid results?
I had some blood tests about 10 days ago, one of which was thyroid function. I've had the same in the past and usually no follow up call. Today I've had a call from the GP to book a 'routine' appointment to discuss the results. Is this something they start doing after a certain age? Or could it mean

NAC and Thyroid Antibodies
Currently hypothyroid, high TgAB, TPO and TSI normal. Am on 600mcg of levothyroxine across the week. Has anyone had success in reducing thyroid antibodies by taking NAC? What other supplements do you take to support thyroid health besides vit D, iron, B12, Folate? These are already under control

Vegan diet without a thyroid
Hello I had a TT 12 years ago due to Graves. I take levothyroxine and have been doing well on it. I am considering a vegan diet and would like to hear other peoples stories (good and bad) about being vegan without a thyroid. Thank you in advance. Louisa

I have today received a phone call from said gp, who told me she as now received the report, I let her talk.. The recommendation

Has anyone had this? Desperate for answers
for about 2 months now I can feel my thyroid is swollen - I had blood tests by doctors and confirmed that my hormone levels are normal and thyroid is functioning. I then had an ultra sound which said that my thyroid was ‘diffuesly enlarged’ and that I also had ‘tiny cysts’ I have now been referred

What the heck, Thyroid!?
Well, I found myself in this forum by following bread crumbs left by FancyPants54 Thankfully she's a bit messy with her snacks 😊 I've been on Pernicious anemia forum for the past few years dealing with my PA/AMAG. I think I may have been selected by whomever makes such selections to have the benefit

Feeling flat
Hi everyone, just feeling so flat and low. Like a functioning shell, if that makes sense? I’m menopausal too (post) so probably isn’t helping. Only diagnosed with Hashimotos recently but have been struggling with symptoms for years. I assumed it was the menopause so took HRT but as my poor thyroid couldn

Wondering if I should get a Partial Thyroidectomy?
I have a nodule on the left side of my thyroid which grew from 11 x 5 x 7 mm to 14 x 9 x 7 mm over the last 6 months. My endocrinologist and ENT believe it’s cancer. No impact on my lymph nodes. My surgery is in a few days and I’m just nervous I’m removing a part of my body that could be fine. Any

Thyroid ultrasound
Hi, I wanted to know if anyone was told if they have had a scan that their thyroid was taut? I’ve been getting a tightness feeling in my throat on and off for months and although she said nothing she found was bad I keep getting pain in the front of my throat as well. I’ve felt generally unwell for

would anyone consider that the above readings going back to 2017 might be the reason I’ve not felt well for a long long time. I’m waiting on results for a thyroid test I had done yesterday morning

ERFA vs Thyroid S
Hi Folks.Would people say that ERFA has higher percentages of T4 and T3 than in Thyroid S generally? I am presuming it's purer as there are less binders, fillers and chemicals in the ERFA. If anyone has switched from Thyroid S to ERFA, any advice on dosing levels (eg. had to increase or decrease, symptoms

hi everyone I thought I would give you a update on my last post. Thank you to all that posted it really helped. I have now had an ultrasound on my neck lumps. I was told I had a very small thyroid and this happens when you have been on Levo for so long (30 years) I’ve never heard of this, has anyone
