DVLA eye test result
Two days ago I posted about waiting for my result of my eye test and was anxious it would drag on. On the 13th December I went to see my consultant, I made it obvious I was not happy with the lack of support during and after covid and that I knew my eyesight had deteriorated because of it. Two weeks

Hand grip training for lowering blood pressure?
Good morning all you helpful people. Iāve just heard a fascinating thing on the Zoe podcast, about hand grip strength and high blood pressure. Apparently, using a hand-held device to strengthen your hand grip over several weeks can effectively lower your blood pressure. Iāve had a look online, and it

Fear of getting ill (nosophobia)
Hello, does anyone else have the fear of getting ill? It's really crippling me at the moment. The other day I had a huge "floater" in my eye. I have been to the eye doctor and a retina specialist and everything is ok. But I'm still having extremely bad anxiety attacks. I'm finding it difficult to

Recommendations for overcoming dizzy episodes?
I have Tinnitus and Pulsatile tinnitus, since summer have had intermittent muffled ears, bit of dizziness. Past 3 weeks have had 24/7 clogged muffled ears like I've got my entire head wrapped in cotton wool and then in a box. What as really hit me hard is the swoosh of dizziness that suddenly hits

Hi All Has anyone had any experience of the above for TED? Been offered this or intravenous Methyldprednisolone. Thyroid Eye specialist has given me a week to make my mind up as to which way I would like to go. There are 3 options, the 2 Iāve just stated or do nothing and risk permanent bulging eyes

My blood sugar is 254mg/dl after 1 hour of lunch
I had a lunch at 1 pm. It included one bowl (100gm) of white rice, sambar, a small cup of potato fry, another cup of vegetables, and 200ml of buttermilk. I took metformin 500mg before lunch and went for a 2km walk inside my office. Took a random blood sugar at 2:30 pm and was shocked to see the reading

Seeking advise about an implantable loop recorder.
I am a 72 year old male in good health. I had persistent AFIB for many years ā probably caused by 40 years of alcoholism. Four years ago, I quit drinking after a mild stroke and began exercising religiously and adhering to a healthy diet. A little over a year ago I had an ablation done, and now I take

Rivaroxaban
Happy New Year everyone! Just wondering if anyone else has any side effects from Rivaroxaban? I'd been taking 20mg per day since 2017 with no noticeable side effects. I not only have AF but Bronchiectasis as well. Needed to put a sputum sample in for testing and carried this out in the usual way

PV and AMD?
I've had PV since 2015 and have been on Jakafi for 18 months. I've recently been diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration and have been treated with intravitreous avastin. I've seen some papers suggesting that AMD is more common for people with MPNs. Has anyone else had this experience? Steve
