Pain in joints but no swelling....
Last time there was no physical
synovitis
in my hand but my joints in the hand were hurting. I get swelling at times but no pain or vice versa. I swear my consultant thinks I'm making it up as so many times I have see the team but the inflammation is not there yet I am in agony.

Hospital want to put me on Methotrexate - yay or nay?
I’ve had multiple surgeries for
synovitis
but no trace of RA - yay or no when no clear diagnosis? I’ve had RA blood tests at least 4 or 5 time - nothing positive for RA. Latest synovectomies on finger joints, histopathology shows no trace of RA.

Gels or creams that actually work for Synovitis is hand??
Hello everyone, anyone know any topical gels/creams that actually ease pain of
synovitis
? I'm waiting for Leflunamide to kick in and in a lot of pain in right hand (not ideal!). Arnica has been recommended and I always try natural things first but has anyone had any success with it?

Whole body inflammation -- is it autoimmune or Lyme?
Ended up getting MRI which showed severe arthritis, large jint effusion and
synovitis
( among other things). A month later I finally agreed to cortisone shot, which did absolutely nothing.

Bloods were all perfect, even crp and esr, but one of my fingers was swollen like a sausage, so they sent me for a scan that revealed fairly severe
synovitis
, and within a month I’d been seen by a rheumy and provisionally diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis: I’d had a patch of psoriasis on my calf for

Identifying & Differentiating Patients With Early Inflammatory Arthritis
In patients with inflammatory arthritis, ultrasound can detect important clues such as subclinical
synovitis
, asymptomatic entheseal inflammation, bone erosions, and crystal deposits, which could otherwise be missed in physical examinations.[4,22–28] The importance of ultrasound has also been highlighted

HCQ versus Cs for PMR
Treatment of acute PMR with HCQ was a rational alternative to CS use even if progressive additive
synovitis
had not yet occurred. For the record, I have been treated for 16 years with Cs & a year ago my diagnosis of PMR was changed to PMR onset Seronegative RA.

Thermal cameras effective in detecting rheumatoid arthritis.
A subset of these participants underwent diagnostic ultrasonography by a trained rheumatologist in order to ensure that the recruited participants had no active signs of
synovitis
in their hands and wrists. https://medicalxpress.com/news/2019-11-thermal-cameras-effective-rheumatoid-arthritis.html

Dr.: You don´t have PMR and PMR is not a disease in the muscles?!
This is apparently the consensus here in Denmark, so without elevated inflammatory markers OR
synovitis
there are no objective parameters to support the PMR diagnosis.

Diagnosis
Today I have no obvious swelling so she sent me for ultrasound scans which showed
synovitis
. However because I have no positive blood markers she wasn't really up for giving me a diagnosis so she says I have seronegative undifferentiated inflammatory arthritis???? Has anyone else had this?

Increase in medication
She wrote this in letter to my GP - “my feeling is that she needs more aggressive treatment given her sero-positivity and the amount of
synovitis
I have seen today” I have an appointment to see her again next Monday to tell her what I want to add.

Hydroxychloroquine side effects
He has said that I have Sjogrens, fibromyalgia and
synovitis
. I have only posted once before when I was unsure of whether or not to start taking Methotrexate. I am having a lot of pressure put on me at work and felt that if I had side effects, I may have to take sick leave.

Hi, I'm a newbie!
NICE guidelines state that anyone with normal blood results but physically shows
synovitis
must be urgently referred to rheumatology. This has not happened with me. I wrote a letter of complaint to GP surgery with photos of my swollen hands, ankles and feet which my husband handed in today.

Please wish me luck today.
She said if the ultrasound didn’t show any
synovitis
she would stop the Methotrexate. I took the decision to stop the ante inflammatory over the weekend as I’m sure that’s been working more than my medication this past year, and sure enough I’ve been in absolute agony all weekend.

Me again
She says she has put me on a trial dose of 7.5 Methotrexate for 3 months , I’m also waiting for an appointment for an ultrasound on my hands and if there is no sign of active
synovitis
she will take me off the Methotrexate.
