14yo diagnosed with cough variant asthma....how does he get rid of the mucus??
This is my first post as my son has just been diagnosed with cough variant asthma and, following an initial two week dose of prednisolone along with
symbicort
twice daily and now also one tab of singulair, is having a horrendous time trying to shift the remaining mucus from one of his lungs.

Symbicort
I've been on
Symbicort
400/12 1 puff bd for about 2 months now, I notice that when I take it I normally gets the shakes and feel 'on edge' for an hour or so afterwards, I've come to expect this now, whilst its annoying.

What to look for from asthma nurse
Over the last five months since my first doctor's visit I've tried salbutamol, then steroid plus salbutamol, then seretide plus salbutamol, and now I'm on
symbicort
. They make the symptoms less, but I haven't yet had a symptom-free day.

Please tell me I am not alone!
I gave up and took my
symbicort
inhaler and it did give me some relief (but not a lot). Spent the next few hours with lots of pillows behind me and eventually got to sleep some 4 hours later.

AHHHHHHH! BEWARE RANT COMING!
that we should get rid of everything I was taking before apart from the
Symbicort
. So no more singular and ventolin. Apparently there is a new ""Smart"" way of treating asthma using just

cleaning chemicals and asthma
I m rubbish at the moment as a result of it and my asthma has been getting progressively worse now on
symbicort
, singular and ventolin. I am frustrated as having to put up with the constant arguments at home and always having to appease everyone and then as a result have stripy lungs.

Car accident and unhappy asthma
I normally take
symbicort
200/6 at 2 puffs twice a day. Would it be worth putting it up to 3 or 4 puffs? If i was at home, i'd see my gp plus i've never been in this situation before. Any advice would be great Thanks, Christine

Asking to change inhalers
I am going to ask to try
Symbicort
probably but also might ask about Fostair. I feel a bit nervous about asking because he's never suggested it although I've been seeing him regularly for a few months because things are not very well controlled at the moment, and neither have any of my GP's.

Question about running/exercise
I should probably ask my GP this but really don't want to bother them yet again... so, I wondered what other people do about exercising at a moderate intensity (running/jogging) whilst they are taking quite a lot of medication (I'm on
Symbicort
, Montelukast, and Pred 20mg short course).

Feeling rubbish!
I've been on
symbicort
for a few months now - limited to 12 times a day including morning and evening compulsory doses. Unlucky for me, have had bad cold over the weekend and still got it now, which has given me a nice dosing of bad asthma after so many months with bare minimum of problems.

Hello all **Newbie alert**
I've been prescribed a
Symbicort
Turbohaler and a Bricanyl Turbohaler. Until recently the
Symbicort
seemed to be helping, and then I caught a cold. That was two weeks ago and I still can't shift the cough. Has anyone got any tips or advice that could help?
