Symbicort
I have been prescribed
Symbicort
to replace my Seretide, Qvar and Salbutamol. However, I have just read the information leaflet and it mentions that the powder does not have a taste I was just wondering if anyone else is on this inhaler. How do I know if I have taken my dose or not?

Not coughing up gunk anymore...
My consultant said he wanted me to stop nebulising/taking blue inhaler and to try
Symbicort
instead. I've done this and feel fine apart from I no longer cough anything up. I'm worried I'm storing problems up if I've got gunk but its not coming out. Any thoughts or experience. Marie x

Sybicort versus Seretide
I told him that I felt that
Symbicort
was of limited effect after taking it for some 6-7 years of varying strengths - currently 400/12 (I also take Spiriva). He suggested I try Seretide 250 and gave me a sample. I tied it today as my morning "starter".

Burning feeling in lungs
Taking
symbicort
twice a day, not massively short of breath, but not good if trying to do anything quickly. My lungs feel sore, rather as if I had smoked too much ... I don't smoke now btw and haven't for three years.

'Heart' side-effects of medication - can they vary?
I thought I'd got used to the
Symbicort
by now, even the increased dose which I've now been on 6 months.

Very frightening - I hate COPD!!!
However when he was so breathless he couldnt take his inhalers properly - I think I got more ventolin than he did and the same with the
symbicort
so am going to talk to the doctors to get a spacer.

Talking about Medication
I guess I have taken most of the medications mentioned on this site but have settled (for some time) on
Symbicort
(three puffs a day) and Spiriva (one puff). Atrovent, Ventolin either as a MDI or nebuliser really have no noticeable effect.

First meeting with pulmonologist
There have been lulls - for the three-four years previous it seemed flixonase and medium dose
symbicort
squashed them, but it is also possible that I just lucked out with the weather. I tend to have more problems in winters with cold windy wet weather.

Primary Sjogren's and lung disease
Good news is I've been stable at 35% for the last 8 years and put this down to
Symbicort
, vitamin D and iron, although none of these have been medically proven to be helping, I just "feel" they are! :-D I am thrilled to find out today that this Association exists. Take care....

Cold or Flu Asthma Trigger
Also I would highly recommend
Symbicort
, as i haven't had a bad asthma attack for over 1.5 years prior to the flu.

What might be next?
I have just been referred to a specialist and am on 40mg pred until then, as well as 8x200/6
symbicort
, singulair and salbutamol coming out of my ears. I was wondering what the next step is likely to be?
