Biologics
Hi everyone I phoned the nurse help line before Easter and found they are going to put me on the biologic Etanercept and I was told I’d get a telephone appointment and that it would be Sciensus delivering the injections. Fit 50 year old
The doctor said it was post infection lung inflammation and gave me a 10 day course of
steroids
. 5 weeks later still no improvement. I could do very easy exercise but anything slightly moderate and my chest tightened up and remained like that for couple of hours after.

I would love to be able to go back to the time when I just needed the occasional salbutamol but I am scared of going back to the time when I would have to take ludicrous amounts of Salbutamol and still having to go to hospital or at least onto oral
steroids
when it wasn't enough.

Not sure what to do!!
Just had his latest reply to me, and he says he accepts my reason for not wanting to see her again, but in order to continue prescribing
steroids
as safely as possible, he would prefer to have some expert guidance.

Overdid things now can't find right level of steroids
In March I was down to 5mg of prednisone and felt wonderful so for better or worse I did a 5 day 4 night mountain hike here in New Zealand. I'm not sorry I did it as it was wonderful and the best thing I have done for myself in years. However stupid that was and I know all the rules about not overdoing

I initially had to go on
steroids
to lower liver levels and then started the Imuran.
Steroids
were terrible and I dread the day I have to go back on them. Hope this info helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Rash on neck comes and goes away. Steroid cream and antihistamines not working. Been happening for 3 months
I have this itchy neck rash that mainly flairs up or comes back on the weekends. Tried steroid cream. It does know it down, but comes back again. On multiple antihistamines one in the morning and one at night and that doesn't seem to help. I take a daily multivitamin and fiber in the morning, but

PMR and Prednisolone
My doctor thinks the symptoms are down to long term use of the
steroids
and that I need to persevere and come off them, albeit gradually. I'm not sure. Withdrawal symptoms from Prednisolone are very similar.

Heavy legs with GCA
I’ve been on 20mg
steroids
for 5 weeks with bloods due this week then a rheumatologist review next week. Is it normal to have this heavy, weak legs feeling due to either / both GCA fatigue / build up of insomnia / weak muscles / steroid effects?

Request sedation for a cortisone injection
So today I got some more bad news. I had my hip replacements checked as my newest one has been causing me a lot of pain. On my CT it showed that I have arthritis in my sacroiliac joint. Yet again, another joint that is either dysplastic or has arthritis. Did I mention I had two hip replacements at 25

Advice Needed - feeling terrible for no obvious reason.
I was diagnosed with GCA three and a half years ago and given 60 mg of
steroids
because of problems with my eyes. I had two major flare-ups which were so bad I couldn`t chew anything and the rheumatologist told me to go back up to 60 mg. She gave me a much slower tapering schedule.

Spirometry results good
Doctors have given me highest dose antihistamines, upped inhalers over the years, given
steroids
and nothing has helped. The Spirometry results were as follows: FEV1 - 3.43 - 99% FVC - 4.11 - 99% RATIO - 83% PEAK FLOW -9.31 - 129% From these results being good? I think?

steroids a necessary evil
Just wanted to share with you this. I would love to be free of prednisone I really would but this is what I have experienced. From 15mg I got to 6mg from last October and was due to reduce further. ‘Great’ I thought, but oh didn’t the pains return! I tried and tried to bear the pain for 3 weeks slowly

Normal CRP but abnormal ESR
So 17 months in I expect I am going to be told to increase the
steroids
😥. My ESR was 67 when first diagnosed. I am thinking, my brother and I had a bit if a scrap (not proud of it)and he pulled my arms really badly, hurting me, that was Friday and the bloods were taken on Monday.
