Out of Kilter
I had to have
steroids
again. I have been checked for diabetes and it’s not that, even though I have a lot of the symptoms. Some renal blood tests are off, as well as a urine test. The doctor said it could be my thyroid or cortisol levels (because of the
steroids
).

Sotalol side effects
For this I was diagnosed with polymyalgia and put on
steroids
. I am wondering now if it's the Sotalol as I am off the
steroids
but still have some joint pain. I was swapped from flecainide as it caused a pro arrythmia in me and I am waiting for an ablation, scheduled for the 26th of March.

Steroids not working?
I’ve never had a course of
steroids
before where it hasn’t made me completely better. Have others had this experience please?

Cant help thinking should i still be on
steroids
which are giving me bad side effects. My last appointment with the doctor was at the beginning of April he said he would see me in three months time.. Confused.

Is there an alternative to
steroids
or do I have to have them ? I can’t stand sweating buckets for hours on end ! Or is it a matter of having to deal with it ?

New GCA treatment
Question: I know
steroids
can improve PMR fast and is a final confirmation in diagnosis. Is the effect similar for GCA or would the
steroids
ease my symptoms if caused by something else?

My awful day and unexpected update from G.P
I strongly disagreed and explained that when I started
steroids
I became pain-free almost immediately so how did he explain the remarkable response to the
steroids
?

Eyesight Improvement
I've not mentioned this to the doctor yet, as when I googled
steroids
and vision it was actually more focused on
steroids
making eyesight worse - so wondered whether anybody else had experienced improved eyesight before I see the Dr for a catch up next week. Any input is appreciated.

Inflammation and RLS redux
I've seen a tiny number of articles discussing the comorbidity of RLS with autoimmune and other inflammatory conditions, including this one that states that
steroids
do improve RLS in some: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1087079222001575 But in my case,

Daily Mail Tuesday 19th
Surely the answer should be NO, he is right it isn't a cure either but he should be saying nothing other than
steroids
works just to be clear. https://newspaper.mailplus.co.uk/data/3890/reader/reader.html?social#!preferred/0/package/3890/pub/13316/page/38/content/700886

What worked for your BFP ?
Despite the tests being fine this time my consultant is giving me
steroids
, blood thinning injections, extra progesterone pessaries and luibon. Just wondering what other things you have tried ?

Blood test results
She also seemed a bit concerned about white blood cell results but put it down to being on
steroids
, just wondering if anyone else has increased white blood cell results. Many thanks.

Prednisolone and skin thinning
I think I’ve heard that long term use of
steroids
can cause the skin to get thinner - is this a thing? I’m wondering if it’s a cause of my difficulty shaking off the cellulitis that’s been bugging me over the past few weeks. Has anyone else had this?

until I see rheumatologist in June instead of stopping in may as planned as it’s obviously working providing this was a connective tissue disease causing inflammation and effusion’s, it’s been a very long road for me and I finally feel I getting somewhere although I am struggling with side effects from

Polymyalgia or fibromyalgia?
I just wanted to ask if anyone else on here has had a similar experience re bloodworm not showing inflammation causing confusion of the diagnosis and given the
steroids
are working does that rule out the other diagnosis of fibro etc. Thanks!

paxclovid
They told me to take Paxclovid for 5 days but not to take any
steroids
during that time. Now slightly panicked as I'm feeling pretty rough anyway. I'm on 4 mgs currently and decreasing slowly to 3.5. Should I take the meds and cut out

? Seems rather drastic. Thanks
