struggling with getting a diagnosis GCA
Slightly different this time, as symptoms have responded less well to
steroids
. The weirdest tongue tingling, and horrible pulse like pounding in my chest. Is this involving the aorta?

Will it be 3rd time lucky with my 3bb!?
It's our 4th embryo on board - this time I've had a sis scan, scratch and
steroids
added into the mix. Mcdonalds fries have been eaten and I'm resting up for the rest of the week! Embie was a 3bb and thawed well! Transfer very straightforward! I feel strange after, like it didn't even happen.

Advice pleaae
Since I have had a dry tickle in the throat cough (6 weeks) Saw my doctor on Monday who checked my lungs which sound clear, he’s given my antibiotics/
steroids
and an inhaler. He’s always sending me for a chest scan but warned that may be about 20weeks.

DRY EYES
Went to hospital last week, am now down to 8mg
steroids
a day from the initial 40g. Consultant pleased and an appointment for 6 months time. I have GCA as well as PMR and asked if I would always have to take
steroids
, he said no, unless a flare up occurs. But still worried about GCA and vision.

Feeling despondent
Hi I last posted when I was waiting for my first biologic Imraldi which turned out to be Hyrimoz another bio similar. Before getting my first biologic injection on 7th June, rheumatology did in fact give me another steroid injection 80mg in the bum 19 days previously ! That eased thing’s slightly

CAUDAL EPIDURAL INJECTIONS AND RLS
Can anyone advise whether
steroids
worsen RLS or particular ones to avoid, please. I have been a member for a few months but never posted before but am so impressed with the community which is so helpful with advice and knowledge - better than most GPs knowledge. Thanks to you all.

Post Covid Queries!
I tested positive for Covid 2 weeks ago… it’s caused an asthma flare but luckily I got prescribed
steroids
for a week which, along with my Fostair and Ventolin inhalers, kept things stable enough for me to stay home.

Blaming Steroids
Over the past couple of years, I have developed what I can only describe as scalp acne! Do you think this is yet something else that I can blame on Pred? At my recent group meeting, several ladies were blaming it for their straw like hair. I Have been on it for 4.25 years and am currently on 3mgs daily

Recovery from surgery
However, I now have to have abdominal surgery in a couple of weeks and the consultant has said it would be better for my recovery if I was no longer taking
steroids
as they can impact the healing process.

My rheumy wants me off of prednisone as soon as possible
The rheumy categorically insisted on going slowly to zero
steroids
. She said in 4 months I have to be completely off of
steroids
. I asked her how I'm going to live with a severe pain, she replied that it can be managed with painkillers.

Back for another go
So, after illness, hospitals, surgery and recovery, I'm back and focusing on losing a minimum of the 2 and a half stone that I have acquired thanks to
steroids
and being on my own.
