Colonoscopy Whilst on Steroids
Hello Again! I am wondering if you could let me have your opinions before I speak to the endoscopy unit. I am having a colonoscopy later this month. I know how to live! đ My question is, on the day prior to the procedure, I am allowed a light breakfast - which is when I would normally take my 3mg

CLL, Bone Marrow Transplant and Hodgkinâs Lymphoma
Canât really answer this as I havenât had one for my CLL. Am 76 years old. Issue of bone marrow transplant has been raised several times in my CLL âcareerâ ( 16 years ). My specialists have told me that I am too old for such a procedure. In fact one of them said it would probably kill me. And that response

Kidney transplant
My husbandâs GFR was 15 on his last blood test. The doctor is saying he should go on a transplant list. I heard that the immune suppressant drugs after the surgery are brutal. Those of you whoâve had transplants, (or knew someone who has) what was your/their experience? Thank you in advance â¤ď¸

Major breakthrough in the treatment of leukemia
Bone marrow aspirate showing Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Several blasts have Auer rods. Wikipedia This article out of the University of Montreal seems to hold some promise for the treatment of AML. Rather than just posting a link I thought it might be easier for all to read this extract

Question: bone marrow biopsy after transplant
The kidney transplant appointment yesterday did not yield good news for my spouse as we hoped about his declining hemoglobin numbers the past 6 months and now white blood count went down from 7.27 last month to 1.59 yesterday. CMV blood lab taken yesterday (last time negative and hope this is negative

The real Silent Heroes
I have mentioned on here before, about those very special people who care and look after us during our liver disease journey. Those wonderful people who put up with us during those terrible moments of HE. Those who stand by us and help us through our Liver Transplant convalescence. Sometimes a simple

Can I get a kidney transplant if I have tattoos?
I asked my nephrologist if I could get tattoos before I got them and he said yes so I did. But come to find out I'm allergic to the ink and keep getting rashes on them so I called to make an appointment with my family doctor but she was on vacation so I made an appointment with the nurse practitioner

Hi All, After two failed rounds of ISCI we had some pretty good improvement in sperm count but motility still wasn't up to scratch. We thought we'd give it one last proper try last month prior to my husbands renal transplant as we aren't sure if the sperm will take a nose dive. I had really mild spotting
