National organ donation week
Well it's national organ donation week and I have had the opportunity to be a recipient of a single lung transplant in November 2016. I'm doing great!! And all because a very kind family agreed for their loved one to donate their organs. I'm eternally grateful for the second chance at life with my daughter

QE Hospital Birmingham - Liver Transplant update.
I was one of the 5000+ people to be fortunate enough to have received a liver transplant thanks to a most wonderful, totally unselfish donor. And not forgetting a bunch of pretty amazing staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. Having nothing better to do, I was trolling "YouTube" just now

Husband turned down for ESA again
Advice needed Husband has been turned down again for ESA while recovering from liver transplant which he had in May They say he doesn't have enough national insurance contributions due to him being out of work for 3 years prior to his transplant. Any advice of what we do next?

Lost a super best friend
Hi folks, It is very comforting to read your stories of how to cope with liver disease. My friend retired from teaching less than a year ago and discovered she has a genetic liver disease ( as do four of her sisters - one had received a transplant one year ago). I can't believe how fast she went. Her

Aggressive IGA neuropathy
Hi all, on April 13, 2018 my daughter was diagnosed with an aggressive form of IGA. I started the donor process and was was ruled out due to red blood cells and protein on my 24 hour urine collections; so I'm not a quick fix for her. 😢 I'm very interested in connecting with others with a similar

Transplant Questions
New to this site. I have heard there is an average weight gain of 20 pounds after a kidney transplant. Is that true, and if so, do you ever lose it? Also, what are the common side effects of the medicines after transplant?

Hi All, My 6 weeks daughter has done kasai procedure due to biliary atresia. Ultimately she has to go for liver transplant (sooner or later). Is there any place in world where lever can donate for small kids.

Gum growth after kidney transplant
Hi, I had a kidney transplant over 2 years ago and recently my gums seem seem to be overtaking my teeth and are quite uncomfortable and bleeding. Is this down to taking prednisolone daily as a steroid?

How to talk about transplants...
Hi, I'm 24 and suffering from stage 5 kidney failure as a side effect of the autoimmune disease scleroderma.
