Stents
My husband, who is 47, has just been diagnosed with a couple of clogged arteries, has been put on
statins
, blood thinning drugs and will have to have a couple of stents fitted. This has come as a massive shock to us.

Just a caution over statins
Its seems that they can sometimes not agree with you.I am certainly for
statins
, just whish my gp would have picked up on it earliar and took a blood test.

Going round in Circles!
He asked if I was talking
statins
for cholesterol but I said I was waiting for my thyroid to settle as that was probably causing the high cholesterol. He said he wasn't concerned with my thyroid so I left no wiser!

Beta Blockers?
Statins
, diet, healthy lifestyle I get, its obvious, but for the life of me I don't get the BB's unless your heart has been damaged and is not capable of working without problems.

Magnesium & cq10
I'm getting a lot of muscle problems now and weakness and although I've started to change my diet I really believe I'm probably magnesium deficient and
statins
are causing some of these issues..

Painful feet and ankles
Wondering if its the
statins
(20mg Astovastin), or any other of my medications, betablockers, aspirin and ramapril. I had a triple bypass in March 2018. Thanks in advance for your help as always. x

Statins and PV
Perhaps
Statins
will be added to Aspirin as part of the standard therapy for PV, at least for those >60.

Overnight leg pains from statins
I’m getting overnight pain in my lower legs which I know is a well documented side effect of
statins
, I take Atorvastarin 40mg with ramipril before bed and regularly get woken up around 3.00 - 4.00 am with a nagging pain (not muscular), if I get up and wonder around it goes quickly, but then I’m awake

Treatments for C3G
Patients with high levels of
lipids
(fats like cholesterol) in the blood should also be treated with
to reduce the levels of these substances.
Statins
help lower the risk for heart disease. Practicing a healthy lifestyle should also be part of the treatment plan.

Flecainide or statins?
I have been on flecainide 50 mg twice a day since my ablation in August and I also take Simvastatin, Bisopropol , levothyroxine and apixaban. For a few weeks now I have been having aching and painful joints- especially my fingers and hips, and numbness and tingling in my arm and leg- had blood tests

Endocrinologist visit
My question is on the recommendation that I need to go on a lipid lowering treatment ( I assume
statins
?) should I ? Upon reading it says ta hereditary unless it skips generations this isn’t the case.

High pressure
So having ambushed me with this data, my doctor took my blood pressure and it was scarily high and he prescribed a calcium channel blocker and
statins
. Having researched
statins
, I decided they are not for me (my cholesterol is not high).
