Statins and muscle damage.
can someone furnish me with some evidence eg studies or scientific paper which shows conclusively that
statins
cause muscle damage, particularly in thyroid sufferers.

High cholesterol.
Can’t tolerate
statins
, tried 4, as dissolve muscles, tried Ezitimibe, caused intolerable gut irritation. Will try to lose weight, what else can I do? Just started supplement of fibre, to help absorb fat from gut. Any recommendations welcome.

LDL analysis testing
My cardiac rehab team said that I may not even need
Statins
as it depends what fats are in the LDL. There is a blood teat for this but they didn’t know if it was available on the NHS. The GP wasn’t aware of the test either. I think it is called a LDL particle test.

Help boosting thyroid without medication?
Hello all I have posted before as my thyroid function is poor but always comes back in range (my TSH never rises even with low levels) so no chance of medication on the NHS (other than
statins
for high cholesterol which I refuse).

statin side effects
But I assume that i need
statins
as I don’t think that I will be able to maintain a LDL of below 1.8 without them. Does anyone have ideas on what statin causes the least muscle pain please.

Different truth about Statins
If you are on
Statins
, especially in terms of so called "primary prevention" you should read this and preferably also some of the sources and then make an educated decision. LINK REMOVED By the way the absolute results/benefits in secondary prevention are not much better.

vitamin B12 high
hi , have just had my blood tests results back had to have them done because I take
statins
and metformin. My vitamin b 12 has come back at 746 which apparently is abnormal, as anyone else had high vitamin B readings when taking
statins
or metformin ?

Statins may increase the risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The authors seem to have expected statin use to lower the risk of PCa: "... their anti-inflammatory features {
statins
} could play a role in preventing tumorigenesis." Instead: "Tumor incidence was higher among men taking
statins
, compared to controls (46.8% vs. 37.8% ...) ..."

Confused about Statins
I'm probably just ignorant re- the benefits of
Statins
, but, I'm a bit confused following an appt with GP practice Pharmacist. I received a text saying they'd like to discuss my Cholesterol and a medicine for improving my heart and kidney health.

Hi all, just sharing an update on my latest statin scenario. Had Nstemi and quadruple bypass in July 2023, was rehabbing really well physically. About 4-5 months post surgery I noticed I was getting a lot of aches and pains that were making me feel really low, joint and muscle aches , thumbs and finger
