Stent at 35 another one due 3yrs later, anyone else have experiences of Heart disease at young age that medication/lifestyle haven’t stopped
I know they says stents don’t change prognosis but it’s all we have as they never found any risk factors or high cholesterol &
statins
don’t seem to be stopping it. Any support or advice would be great.

Statins for women
I'm doing a little more of this scaremongering in the LCHF thread today, and since a fair number of the people here are "on
statins
", I thought it might be of interest. https://healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet/posts/142569664/

Statins - More Good News
It is already well known that
statins
have many benefits. These include the lowering of cholesterol (particularly LDL), stabilisation of existing plaque and reduction of irritation (often a precursor to plaque formation).

Acheing muscles
Hi all, just a statin question, I am starting to get the old muscle aches regularly now which I believe could be an unpleasant side edge t of the
statins
! Does anybody else get these and is there a solution other than reducing dosage or stopping all together which I defintaley don’t want to do!

I had a stroke and I am on Apixaban
statins
and perindopril and no Hospital admissions or episodes. Is this a reasonable price or does someone here knows about a better offer?

What if we could prevent strokes?
Since
statins
very reliably reduce total cholesterol, we can infer that they have low cholesterol because they are taking
statins
. We can further infer that, if you don't take
statins
, your normal TC hovers somewhere around 6mmol/L, plus or minus, at age 70.

Test results
Had phone appt where she just wanted me to go on
statins
but I don't do tablets unless I really have to. I asked what the Thyroid result was as there could be a connection but she said there was no Thyroid result!!! The nurse had omitted to do the test.

Not so long ago, we had a consultant cardiac surgeon - whose name completely escapes me - frothing at the mouth and denouncing anti-statin campaigners with the ringing exhortation that
statins
"save lives", and if we stop prescribing them then "people are going to die".

TIA or not TIA that is the question!!!
I am out of hospital now and they have put me on five daily tablets (this was the first time in my life that I have been admitted into hospital and I am 66 years old so I do count myself lucky) The tablets are
statins
, soluble aspirin, blood pressure, etc etc.

A life sentence
The consequences now is that I have high blood pressure, am on
statins
for high cholesterol and have frequent ectopic beats. Most of this is my own doing as I do little exercise as I’m agoraphobic. Although, I work, look after my grandchildren I wouldn’t say I’m inactive, neither have a bad diet.

COULD PMR BE A PHENOMENA OF THE GUT?
I went on
statins
for cholesterol, and started taking a Q10 supplement because I read that it helps avoid some side effects of
statins
. 2 weeks after taking the Q10 every night, my PMR went away completely. it may be a coincidence and it may be that my PMR was more or less due to clear up anyway after

I now take aspirin, omeprazole and
statins
daily. I continue to run, sail and cycle and feel fit and well. I did retire as I had a stressful job, which along with a healthy diet and fitness regime, has meant that I lead a full and active life.
