GP has immediately put me on
statins
, apixipan (blood thinner) and taken me off HRT patches. Really shocked by this early warning as I had been feeling so well cycling to work, losing weight and generally feeling good.

Posting this once again to try to get the message out:
These drugs are used to lower cholesterol, but they are usually prescribed along with a statin, because they are NOT
statins
...they are bile acid sequestrants, hence the reduction or total stoppage of diarrhea. They are also used to treat Type II diabetes.

Stenosis carotids
I had a TIA three months ago and was given
statins
and Apixaban anticoagulant . It appears that my carotid arteries have 50% stenosis . I expressed my worries to the doctor who did my follow up ,and she airily said that they they don't worry until it reaches 70% .

Low serum free thyroxine level is correlated with lipid profile in depressive patients with suicide attempt
Anyway, it has certainly previously been reported that it is vital to consider the possibility of
statins
causing or worsening depression by lowering cholesterol: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23767773 [i]

Statin doses?
My doctor prescribed 20mg a day but I heard from a friend that its better to take at least 40mg a day as
statins
keep the vessels pliable and dont just help with cholesterol reduction. I dont like the side effects of
statins
and I dont get them so much on the 20mg.

Should I stay on statins?
I’ve read so many horror stories about
statins
that I’m not sure what to do for the best, I’d appreciate any advice from anyone with any knowledge please? 😜

Are you a Heart Patient taking
statins
or a carer for someone with heart disease? Social media is a great forum for us for share our experiences and knowledge, but is the patient’s conversation about
statins
being heard by clinicians and the powers that be?

lipid clinic appointment
This is after he told me to stop the
statins
due to muscle pain. The bad cholesterol had gone up to 5.4 i believe and he wants it down to 2. Which i thought was a bit low. He also did the test for senile dementia, which i'm glad to say i passed flying colours.

Coronary artery disease is a chronic inflammatory disease. Decades of emphasising the importance of lowering cholesterol.
disease The shocking truth about the new 'wonder jab' for high cholesterol Inclisiran halved cholesterol levels in patients at high risk of a heart attack Two others, evolocumab and alirocumab, can only be prescribed by specialists However, despite this, they cost roughly 100 times more than cheap

I have been going to an Endo for 25 years and in that time all she ever did was give me a script of synthetic T4, read the blood work, tell me to lose weight and try to put me on
statins
for high cholersterol.

Side effects with Morningside T3 now on Teva
My accountant told me he gets the same symptoms from
statins
which I wouldn't touch with a barge pole. My GP assured me she would specify Mercury on my presciption but when I picked it up only Teva was the named medication. Cheapskates. Anyone else suffering side effects with Morningside or Teva?
