Some news that has rocked my boat a little today.
Hi there sisters. I'm afraid this is going to be a long and boring post but I hope you can get to the end for me please. I'm usually a half full kinda girl with a good sense of humour but this week has been really difficult. Had the onset of a lot of pain in pelvis and lower back, plus a new lymph

Skipping Beats
So my Afib seems to be under control under my current medication which is Sotalol. But what seems to be happening lately is my heart will skip beats. Happens for hours and then stops on its own. Totally normal rate at around 70bpm but skips beats occasionally. Doesn’t really stop me from doing anything

Wee 1 trial anyone?
Hello ladies. Sorry I haven’t been here lately. Been hunkered down. Sadly the hope I had for the parp inhibitor was short lived. I was on Rubraca for a bit less than 3 months. Had one nice drop in CA 125 but that number rose the following month along with an onslaught of symptoms and the big ascites

Help needed (SVT, bradycardia, arrhythmia generally)
Hi, I’m 33 years old and in a bit of a quandary. At 26 I had an episode of SVT completely out of the blue (240bpm), no prior heart issues or symptoms, and did the fun old adenosine jaunt in A&E. I was kept in for 8 days, put on sotalol, but my hr would still jump massively in the immediate aftermath

I am writing this post on behalf of my mother, 47 Years Old Home Maker. She was dignosed with early stage breast cancer on 04-July-2013. With ER 60 % , PR 60 % and HER 2 Equivocal. It surely has been a life changing news for us in the family and have been running from pillar to post ever since.

Running out of meds to try
Another new medication, another set of side effects. I've now been on Metoprolol (4 x 25mg) for six weeks and it's great for weight loss (which is a bit scary). At first it wasn't too bad and I could have a sort of life, but not anymore. Nausea, fatigue, congestion etc. and it doesn't consistently

Fast uncontrolled A/fib and A/flutter
Hi I’m new here. Twenty five year history of arrhythmias. Initially medication as and when. Then regular medication of sotalol twice daily. Eventually doing rates up to 270bpm. Four catheter ablations. First one they did a pulmonary vein isolation and isthmus line, resulting in atrial flutter. The second

Sotalol 40 mg Update
Hi Everyone, went to the Chemist's for my monthly prescription, expecting there to be no Sotalol and, once again, having to start telephoning around Hull to source a supply, when "hey-diddle diddle", I was informed that the Pharmacist has got a year's stock for me! What an Angel. It will be chocolate

Hair Loss?
What's the ball park period of time I may lose my hair after chemo? I had my first treatment on October 23rd, and I thought it would start to fall out after day 10. Will it be later than that? I'm on Taxol and Carbo. What's the average time? Evie

OCTOPUS Trial
As some of you may have read I began the OCTOPUS trial at the beginning of October for repeated recurring PPC. The trial involves Taxol by infusion and trial drug in tablet form. As the trial is randomised you don't know if the tablet is chalk or chemo, but judging by the side effects I have experienced

I was wondering.....
Hi Everyone! I just completed my 4th round of Taxol Carboplatin. I also receive Avastin and immunotherapy/placebo. This was more difficult side effects than before. I was more nauseated and the body aches were worse and lasted longer as well. I am a very positive person and the treatment is working so

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Conjugated Linoleic Acid (2)
Conjugated Linoleic Acid [CLA] is actually a large group of isomers, but the c9,t11 & t10,c12 are the most studied, owing to greater presence. By the time that I was using CLA over ten years ago, interest seemed already to be fading on the PCa sites I visited. Tonalin was the hyped product - from safflower

Bit of a wobble.
Hi lovely ladies. I’m wobbling. A bit. Had chemo last week on Thursday. Same regime as first line - carbo and taxol. Don’t feel too bad physically but feeling a bit low. I think reading the word ‘palliative ‘ on my consent form just got to me. Scared me. I know I can’t be cured but this word made

Weening off Sotalol
I have decided to ween myself off Sotalol I take 360mg per day, I have a pacemaker inserted. I have been taking this beta blocker for the past seven years in different doses. I spoke to my GP and asked if I could try a pill in the pocket, which he has agreed for me to try. It will take me three weeks

Triple Negative came back in lymph nodes.
Hello, my wife was diagnosed with triple negative stage 1. She had chemo first A/C then Taxol was told nothing in the nodes. After chemo she had a full mass where then they told us 3 nodes showed signs the next 12 was clear. Then they said she would need radiation which she did. A few months later she
