Blood clots in mouth
Hello everyone I have had afib now for 20 months. Take Sotalol 80 mg twice a day and Xarelto (rivaroxaban) anti coagulant. I have had problems with bleeding gums on and off since this treatment and put it down to the anticoagulant. However last night my mouth became suddenly full of blood followed

Weekly Taxol and steroids
Hi all, Do anyone of you ladies currently on weekly Taxol take steroids before, the day of and the day after treatment? I remember when I first had chemo (carboplatin and taxetere), I had to take them. This time around they didn't give me any and just doubled the dose prior to administering the taxol

Discontinued AntiArrythmics due to prolonged QTc
Hi all.. I've been put on various anti arrhythmia drugs..propafenone, flecanide, sotalol. They inadvertently lead to prolonged QT. My ECG today also shows QTc at 545. My cardiologist says it is not safe to continue this class of drugs. He has now put me on bisoprolol 1.25 od. But beta blockers make me

Rolling the Dice After All
Hi everyone, Here is my update after a really thorough appointment with my Oncologist in Bath, with lots of input from my husband and daughter. We all discussed the options and decided, together, not to pursue surgery at this time, as my new growth is very small and weekly Taxol would be the mop up

Feeling unwell but no palpitations
No overnight AFIB (has been happening 2-3 times a week) but feel groggy and unwell with the sensation of 'fluttering but heart rate steady but slow. On sotalol. Last afib was late Monday night. Had some day time sleep to recover Tues and an hour Wed but worked normally round that. Any thoughts on why

Visual disturbances at night.
I take Sotalol (for PAF) and Losartan (for blood pressure). Sotalol lists āvisual disturbancesā as a side effect and Losartan has āsleep disturbanceā. I notice that when I go to sleep and my eyes are closed sometimes there is, intermittently (occurring say every 3 minutes or so) a visual disturbance

Fluid on both lungs
Hi Everyone So today I am going to have an operation to remove the fluid from my lungs. My surgeon has said that it is unusual to have fluid on both so he will drain the fluid from the left lung and repair the right. I am desperate to start Taxol this coming Thursday so I really hope there are no complications

Roll the DICE Trial, anyone
Here I am again. Disappointingly struggling to find a suitable option for taking up arms to defeat this thing. This week I met Susanna Banerjee of the Royal Marsden to discuss possible trials on offer for the likes of me. BRCA1 positive, yet now classified as PARP resistant. It was good hearing this

Almost 3 Months Post Ablation and Getting increased Blood Pressure.
Hi, I wonder if anyone has been in a similar situation. I am just into my 11th week after my ablation and am due to stop the three months course of Flecainide; the first 10 weeks were OK other than a blip in week one, and my blood pressure has been steady at around 120/75 with a HR of 60 ( pre ablation

Next steps continued
An update on my post from 2 weeks ago :-) I saw the oncologist last Tuesday. He said that my ct scan had been reviewed and the lesion found on my liver was typical of a liver met so no further investigation was required and my treatment had to change. I've had 17 cycles of faslodex and ibrance (125)

Food is the trigger to AF???
Have had 5 AF events past two years. I take 80ml sotalol 2x a day. Events only come if I eat later in evening and lying down. I have GERD and doc feels food in esophagus is interacting with upper chamber of heart. I am NEW here, anyone relate?? Also drinking cold water or cold shower brings me back to

Negative Scan results -- which is good news!
I don't normally post "my business" here, because I know we all have stuff we're going through. But, then I thought that maybe this could be a little light for some people and offer some hope. So, here goes. I got the CT and nuclear bone density scan results today and the bone scan showed nothing, after

Fighting for better Options
Hello everyone, This is my update from my disappointing realisation that even though I am BRCA 1 positive, Niraparib was not the saviour I had hoped it would be. Yesterday, I met with my Oncologist, bringing along my daughter and husband for back up. As expected, my CA-125 continued to rise, from 33
